Who cares what his personal opinion on abortion is; his professional opinion is the Constitutionally correct one — that the decision should be reserved to the states.
Thank you! This is a 10th Amendment issue. Let the states decide!
Because a lot of us care quite a bit what his personal opinion is. We want to see if he has any moral standing, we want to see if he has any guts, we want to see if he stands on principle or expediency, looks like he answered that one. This is the kind of person that will stab you in the back when the chips are down. No thanks Steele, unlike your name, your backbone is mush.
You are right its a state issue..I remember when it went to the USSC. The backers of the bill said specifically that they went the federal route because it would be too expensive to go state by state..Many states had a law against it and I think only 2 allowed it..It is an issue for each state. The backers don’t like it because most states would outlaw it if it was up to the voters..If pro-life groups had only a couple of states they had to protest in, it would also be easier for them to work to change minds..
Not true.
No state has the right to decide that a certain class of people are not entitled to protection from homicide.
Any state that designates any class of people as undeserving of the protection of the law should be expelled from the Union.
