Word has it that the Atlantics Ross Douthat will be picking up where Bill Kristol left off at the New York Timess op-ed page. Heres the email the Timess Andrew Rosenthal sent to colleagues announcing the hire:
Folks: Some exciting news. Weve hired Ross Douthat, currently of Atlantic. Ross will be joining the Times staff in mid-April and will be based in the Washington bureau. He will start out primarily online, but will soon be writing with increasing frequency, and then regularity, on the Op-Ed page, in the Monday slot opposite Paul. At some point, hell also resume his work as a blogger, which I highly recommend.
If you dont know Ross, youll find him funny and smart and sharp. Hes going to be a great addition to our team. I know youll make him welcome.
Andy
What happened to Kristol?
Kristol thought the Slimes was too conservative for him, so he left.
;)
RINO on RINO.. thant can’t be pretty...
Very messy.
I don’t think of them as RINO’s any more. I think of them as Republicans...Which is why I am no longer a Republican.
BUMP
I’m not familiar with Ross Douthat, but I can make a couple guesses. We have someone who changes jobs during a recession and chooses for his new employer ... a company that is losing money so fast they just had to sell their building. Would I be going out on a limb if I guessed that Ross Douthat is not an economist?
Douthat is a Harvard graduate.
He was paid to write a book about being a Harvard graduate, when he was 23.
This is how he got to be a famous pundit.
