I think they believe that checking Obama’s eligibility is somebody else’s responsibility and that those responsible for it must surely have done so.

Surely they aren't THAT stupid??? Are they? I'm sure they must have investigators on retainer. They could do some checking without even missing the nightly cocktail party.
