U. S. Military, Veterans, and Peace Officers
Our oath is to the Constitution of the United States of America.
It is NOT to the President..., and that oath will be kept,......
Oath Keepers is a non partisan association of currently serving military, veterans, and peace officers who will fulfill our oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.
Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the President, not to Congress, and not to any political party. In the long-standing tradition of the U.S. military, we are apolitical. We dont care if unlawful orders come from a Democrat or a Republican, or if the violation is bi-partisan. We will not obey unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral orders, such as orders to disarm the American people or to place them under martial law.. We wont just follow orders." Our motto: Not on Our Watch!
There is at this time a debate within the ranks of the military regarding their oath. Some mistakenly believe they must follow any order the President issues. But many others do understand that their loyalty is to the Constitution and to the people, and understand what that means.
The mission of Oath Keepers is to vastly increase their numbers. [This confliction MUST NOT be allowed to continue within our military...]

Excellent website
What is it you want me to explain? Who is most of us? You?
Company clerk, 76H20 (iirc), 4th Armored Division, circa 1969. Sorry, I won’t identify the battalion or the CO’s name, as I don’t want this to turn into a mini-inquisition. He said it during one of our weekly command sessions held in the day room.
You are partially correct here. The officers swear an oath only to the Constitution. The enlisted oath goes on to say "and I will obey all orders of the President and all officers placed over me." I have taken both oaths, so unless it has been changed in the last twenty years, that's the way it is now.
“What is it you want me to explain?”
Get off your high horse and your defensive posturing and tell us what makes you think that Blackwater is a homosexual company that is the current version of the “brown shirts”, presumably for Obama.
I don’t think they are homos. They are anything but homos. I imagine they can’t stand zer0 and I’m sure the feeling is mutal, but he may try to win them over to work for him. I don’t think they should have been in Iraq. Blackwater terrifies the DUmmies. They think they want to send them to FEMA camps, so I guess anything that terrifies them is a good thing and I imagine they are at the top of zer0’s sh*t list. They are an extremely powerful force.
zer0 wants his OWN brownshirts, hand picked, probably Black Panthers and Acorn. I seriously doubt Blackwater would be loyal to zer0. What do you think?
I've seen this incident portrayed on one of the cable channels (History Channel, probably).
That they were Bonus Army participants was not mentioned.
Thanks for the info.
Folks, if you support the mission of Oath Keepers, please visit the site and read all the testimonials by active duty and veterans who are reaffirming their oath and stating what it means to them. Most of them sign their John Hancock on their testimonials, for all to see.
You will read some very moving and sincere statements by veterans - many of them combat vets - who are STILL willing to fight and die to preserve this nation.
We encourage you to show your appreciation and support for these men by commenting on their testimonials.
We are heartened and encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive reception of our effort, and we thank you for helping to spread the word.

“I dont want this to turn into a mini-inquisition.”
I think you have a negative attitude regarding the army.
Not at all. What are you talking about? What, because I don’t want it to go any further than this? Because I wouldn’t appreciate my privacy being invaded, or even Capt. Doofus’ privacy being invaded, over something he said 40 years ago? That would be a mini-inquisition. No thanks.
I love the armed forces and its noble record. I’m proud I served. But I don’t have to tell you there are some bad actors in there; the Constitution is the last thing on their mind.
"Blackwater was there too. Many think they are like Hitlers brownshirts."
"SA, better known as Storm Troopers. Hitlers enforcers. Mostly homos. Like Blackwater assh*les."

I think that you are nuts, you label Blackwater as homosexual brownshirts, then you kind of reverse yourself all of a sudden and freep mail me that LOL, DUmmies think that! You are pretty weird and a flame thrower that can't back up what you have thrown out during your less than ten weeks at FR.
“Seemed to be a pretty common attitude among NCOs and officers. Blind obedience was in.”
Obedience to lawful authority is the foundation of manly character...Robert E. Lee
Don’t respond to me again. I’m sorry if you don’t get what I was saying and I have no clue why you are flipping your lid. If you are a BW employee, too bad you didn’t round the DUmmies up and send them to the FEMA camps like they thought you would. Then we wouldn’t have a Commie in the WH.
US Army, unfortunately. During the Vietnam war. Seemed to be a pretty common attitude among NCOs and officers. Blind obedience was in. But I never heard it put so bluntly until that day.
Bullshit, you have a personal anecdote and that is fine but that was not a common attitude.

Want to clarify that post? By the way there may be a limit to how much cursing and personal attacks are allowed in those freepmails that you are spamming me with.
Post them. All one has to do is go back and look at your previous posts and see that you get off on being rude to people. FO
Seriously, getting purely personal and crossing threads to do it is against FR policy.
“That they were Bonus Army participants was not mentioned.”
There’s a great book about it titled “Storm of the Century” (not to be confused with the movie, which is based on book with a different title). It just so happened that I read it right before Katrina. The author goes into great detail describing the bungling by Washington beaurocrats that delayed warnings and ultimately delayed the rescue train. Ernest Hemmingway, who was no fan of FDR and his New Deal, wrote extensively about the aftermath as well. Congress even held hearings.
You are right, in very few places will you find it mentioned that those people were Bonus Marchers sent to the Keys by FDR.
