In fact, the spontaneous outpouring of resistance with tax tea parties, on conservative talk radio and at conservative blogs is the beginning of a populist conservative revolt. The key is to enlist America’s natural conservatives.

This is exactly how the Rochester Tea Party came together! One guy suggested a date, today, because Gov. Paterson is going to be in town and the word spread via the blogs. None of us doing this are big-shots, we're just regular folks who care about freedom and are concerned about the huge advance of big government and socialism. This really is a true grassroots effort and nothing like the "astroturf" campaigns from the left, ie. the video with the kids singing praises about Obama. That was so friggin' contrived, it made me want to barf!

Some helpful guidelines:

As a reminder:

* The organizers of these events are unpaid volunteers, many doing this for the first time.
* There is no one whose job it is to do outreach. Any outreach that is getting done is being done by unpaid volunteers who are freely giving of their time.
* If you see a job that isn’t getting done, volunteer to do it.
* In most cases, this means that you just start doing it…like everyone else here.
* However, if others in your area are already working together, it’s a good idea to get in touch to arrange for a division of labor and to avoid re-duplication.
