Insulin resistance is one of the hallmarks of type II diabetes. The risk factors/diagnoses just mentioned are also risk factors for the various types of cerebrovascular disease, i.e. stroke.
How much of the supposedly inherent white racism in the medical establishment as evidenced by worse mortality and morbidity is really due to the genetic predispositions of people of color in latitudes that their ancestors didn't evolve to inhabit?

This article is misleading. 25-(OH)D needs to be between 60-65 for optimal levels of health. There are several medical publications of late suggesting D levels to be around 70 for Diabetics and 90 for those with Cancer to enhance health.

One also wonders what the neurological effects might be, potentially explaining blacks underperformance on IQ tests and other measures of average intelligence. Twould be worthwhile to re-plot the data with Vit. D conc. vs tested IQ. Maybe all we need to get more black conservatives is to pass out free Vitamin D supplements.

Which seems to agree with my hypothesis, except that the mechanism would be neonatal instead of direct deficiency (though the latter may be true as well).
