Seventy-five members of Congress asked House leaders on Tuesday to shut down a loophole allowing billions in economic stimulus funds to go to some 300,000 construction workers who are in the country illegally. “I believe that this figure may be low,” Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., tells Newsmax.

The House version of the $787 billion stimulus package signed by President Obama included a requirement that the legal residency of all employees hired through stimulus spending be verified. As Newsmax reported Monday, that provision was mysteriously stripped from the legislation before it went to the conference committee that reconciled the House and Senate versions of the legislation.

The mystery is how we allow the lying cheats to remain in office.

Obama wants the illegals to have "steady jobs" so they can stay here until the next amnesty push. The Dems want to kill e-verify for now, probably so that they can include it in the next amnesty package, to convince us they believe in "securing the border."

Hate to say it, but this is just another episode of the Media (including our so-called conservative media) of ignoring important information (hey, they reported it, so it can’t be dismissed - even if it is only Newsmax). In any actual real-time world, this would be a big deal - just another give-a-way to non-citizens. No problem...the Federal Government will take over and ignore any of these minor law=breakers...

Right, and why aren’t our represtatives shouting at the top of their longs and demanding to know who did it? I have to get this in an email to hear about it? The news is useless. I wathched O’Reilly, Hannity, Greta, not a word.
