Do I want President Obama to fail? No. I want the country to succeed despite his agenda.
That’s the same wish I had when Bill Clinton was President. I had nothing but raw contempt for his political vision, but I wanted the country to remain prosperous and free in spite of Clinton’s attempts to muck things up. Ultimately, we survived the Clinton era. Despite my general pessimism, there’s still a part of me that believes we can make it through the Obama years as well.
I didn’t want Clinton to fail so much as I believed failure would inevitably consume him. The same can be said for the Clinton imitator currently in the White House.
If you’re a patriot, you want your country to succeed no matter which politician is in power. Is America only great when a Republican is in charge?
Many conservatives believe Obama does not fully appreciate the traditions, the values and the sacrifices that made America the strongest country on earth. Well, so what? Clinton and Jimmy Carter had the same paucity of patriotism—yet the country remained great despite their lack of faith in its greatness.
No one man, no one President, can weaken the greatness of America—no matter how socialist, radical or ineffective that President may be. The Founders ensured that no President would be able to single-handedly destroy what they worked so hard to build.
Now, it is true that the people, collectively, can nullify the country’s greatness. An uneducated, crude populace, one that can be easily swayed by charming words and effective marketing, can create the circumstances under which America becomes just another country. However, so long as the country’s people remain intellectually and philosophically strong, the country will retain its richness.

I don’t remember the press beating this drum when GW was president. I do remember that they called him every name in the book, and made every irrational charge that could be made, and did everything they could to undermine him at every turn. And I don’t remember them wasting much time on navel gazing as they did it.
If Obama governs according to his stated positions, or worse, according to the stated positions of his supporters, then we’re headed for disaster. If he turns out to be more pragmatic, then the damage will be limited. In any case, we’ve got a fight on our hands, and we won’t get much rest the next four years.

I totally agree. Most people never heard of Obooomba only 4 years ago, and yet he has lied, bamboozled & corrupted his way to become Pres__ent of the once mighty USA. I don’t think our founding fathers ever envisioned a socialist onslaught against America by an evil cabal of partisan in the tank media constantly drum beating & covering for Obooomba, a socialist judiciary that is squelching any challenges to Obooomba’s U.S. birth verification and a complacent, dumbed down, stupified, dumb ass sheeple including educated dumb asses, who have elected this imposter as U.S. Pres__ent. I think our freedom & survival as a nation may not survive the next 4 years, if Obooomba is successful in bankrupting our country, giving illegal aliens the right to vote, and destroying our freedoms, liberties & economy. I don’t think that Rhodesians ever thought their country would be turned into socialist, hell hole, cess pool, violent, corrupt, starving Zimbabwe either. And I believe this is exactly the outcome for our country if Obooomba remains in power to 2012.....which will then enshrine him for another 4 years unless he resigns or miracle of miracles, he would be defeated. And I don’t see that happening with the magic negro, Obooombamessiah.

I don't know much about this Tucker guy, but I haven't been enthralled with what I've read. I am sure he is a good conservative: Human Events wouldn't tolerate a lib, I know...but something seems to rub me the wrong way about him.

if 0bama and the libs don’t fail and fail miserably, then even the barest of ‘success’ will be hailed as a magnificent success for all socialist plans.... thereby cementing America’s death and the dawn of Soviet Amerika will begin.
therefore, i do, 100%, absolutely without reservation, dream/wish/hope/pray for the libs plans to crater hard.
will it suck? sure. but i can deal with a few years of crap, if the alternative is 50+ years of socialistic totalitarianism
