Senator John McCain says he seeks to work closely with the Obama administration on economy, despite holding vastly different views on the issue.
"These are terrible, perilous times, so I will seek ways to work with the president of the United States," the former Republican presidential nominee told Politico. "I don't want him to fail in his mission of restoring our economy."
McCain, who was among leading opposition forces in the US Senate against President Barack Obama's hefty $787 billion stimulus plan, said he would not refuse to help Obama.
McCain said he had already started collaborating with Obama and his team.
The Republican senator has revamped his legislative profile by abandoning his position as chairman of the Commerce Committee and adding three others gearing up to address health care and energy policy -- two Obama priorities.
"We are at a crucial time in America's history, the question of whether our economy will survive - I think there's a lot of common ground driven by this overwhelming issue of America's economy, which motivates me to work with the president and seek out ways that I can work with the president. Not to have them seek me out, but I seek them out and try," said McCain.

I have a feeling that this isn't going to end until McCain is soundly defeated in a general election for his office as Senator from Arizona. |

I have a feeling that this isn't going to end until McCain is soundly defeated in a general election for his office as Senator from Arizona. It won't even end there. Once defeated, he'll take some time to contain his anger, then make every effort to regain media attention in order to defile those who were so misguided in not recognizing his talents.

He just can't stand to not be in front of the cameras.
Its not about real action with McCain, just about him feeling personally relevant, in the media.
