Megan,
The people that you are trying to appeal to believe that Che Guevera is "hip." Most adults have long gotten past trying to fit in with "hip."

As for your political analysis, thanks, but no thanks.

Just dropping in to say, I am not reading any more of these articles demeaning any conservatives. Especially those that say they are conservatives and talk like leaning over the left edge liberals, like Frum and C Buckley.

I thought Megan was cool last week. Now she sounds like a DU member who think that ‘cool’ and ‘hip’ are more important than truth and liberty.

What would one expect from an airhead that voted for John Kerry in 2004?

Poor Meg Hen

Note To Meghan McCain

h/t Ace's blog -- I realize this might sound terribly inconvenient, Meghan. But have you considered going out into the real world and accomplishing something besides graduating college before convincing yourself that any one outside your family gives a damn what you think? We don't really value the whole Kennedy-kid thing over here on the Right. As Daddy isn't going to need a campaign prop for at least two years, surely there's something productive you could do in the mean time.

Meghan McCain on Coulter: 'offensive' and 'insulting'

Meghan McCain gets off the topic of dating today on The Daily Beast, instead taking shots at Ann Coulter and her role in the Republican party. The Senator's daughter calls Coulter "offensive, radical, insulting, and confusing all at the same time."

I am not suggesting that extreme conservatism wasn’t once popular, nor am I suggesting I should in any way be any kind of voice for the party. I have been a Republican for less than a year. Still, even after losing the election, I find myself more drawn to GOP ideals and wanting to fight for the party’s resurgence. And if figureheads like Ann Coulter are turning me off, then they are definitely turning off other members of my generation as well. She does appeal to the most extreme members of the Republican Party—but they are dying off, becoming less and less relevant to the party structure as a whole.

McCain said she'll be in New York tonight for Coulter's debate with Bill Maher. Will Coulter respond on stage?

Sen. McCain's daughter, pictured on the left, is speaking out on the impact of her father's latest presidential campaign on her personal life.

(CNN) — Meghan McCain says that "nothing kills my libido quite like discussing politics" — and that the presidential election "killed my personal life."

"OK, maybe killed is a bit of an exaggeration," she wrote in a blog post for The Daily Beast published Monday. "But it does seem to be on life support. Of all the things people warned would happen post-election, no one ever said anything about how complicated dating would become. Especially if your dad loses the election. There are things that have been difficult, but nothing quite as tough as dating. I fear the election has destroyed my ability and desire to date. Now, I cannot say at any point in my life that I have been very good at dating. But I have become something I used to despise: people who let politics dictate his or her attraction to someone."

She said one fan of her mother, Cindy McCain, recently told her she could be "his Cindy," and asked if she ever wore pearls like her mother did. "Any guy that has a fetish for older women in pantsuits and large pearls obviously only finds my last name attractive about me," she wrote.

McCain said she did not care who her friends supported during the campaign, and that she believed political views were personal — "but when it comes to dating, it's become an entirely different subject. And I promise, no one is more surprised by this revelation than I am. … If I am adult enough to understand that voting is one of the most personal things a person can do, why am I letting it affect how attracted to someone I am? I know that no one can really explain sexual attraction and why you are drawn to someone or not — but at this point in time, nothing kills my libido quite like discussing politics."

It is no secret that being a Republican isn’t the most hip political stance a person can take right now

You should never join a political party based on how 'hip' it is. If you do so, you are joining for the wrong reason, Megan. Get a grip.

You know you’re big when Katy Perry wears a dress with your face on it to host the MTV Europe Music Awards

I would consider a stamp of approval from a cultural cesspool like Hollywood to be an insult, not an honor, sweetie.

Ann Coulter. I straight up don’t understand this woman or her popularity. I find her offensive, radical, insulting, and confusing all at the same time.

There are numerous examples of outspoken, brash people like Ann on the liberal side of the isle (Franken, Garfolo, The hens on The View, etc etc) yet you and the democrats routinely give them a pass. Why is that, Megan?

FWIW, I became a Conservative under Ronald Reagan, who was considered 'hip' and 'cool' by a large number of young people like me who became known as the Reagan Youth. He captivated us by challenging us with the 'radical' notion that this country's better days were ahead of it, not behind it - 'radical' thinking people like Obama could learn a lot from.

Well, Megan - if ya ain't got any brains to think with, I'm sure you can still get a job in certain forms of "entertainment" out of the Left Coast...

Granted, being “hip” is not a reason to join a political party, or a reason to agree with its ideals. But it is a way to get the attention of a generation—or, more specifically, my generation.

Well, Ms. McCain, you seem to have answered your own question.

Those who are interested in an attention-getting party that's in touch with today's (mush-headed) youth should look to the whimsical Democrats. Those who prefer to have actual facts, principles and history on their side, and can do without the cool factor, should join the Republicans.

We prefer thinking adults, thank you very much.

Poor Meghan appears to inherit that trait of her father’s that also causes him to lash out at fellow republicans - the desire to be liked by the pretty people.

Dear Meghan:

The pretty “hip” people are shallow, materialistic, immature, and stupid.
Get over them already.
