There you go again with the drama. Sure our 401(k) accounts are down, jobs have been lost, and the financial situation looks dire, but I don't condone the idea that we should start shooting at people from rooftops because of it. Those are material items, not ideals or principles such as freedom of speech, our right to bear arms and freedom of religion that our Forefathers fought for. They didn't fight because of taxes, they fought because they were getting no representation or freedom. Huge difference in context. Because of them, if we don't like our representation, we can throw the bums out via elections. That is what we need to do, they didn't have that choice.

Rather than engage in emotional exchanges, perhaps you might consider spending just a few hours reviewing the math.

I've converted more than a fair share number of people by patiently showing them the numbers. They don't lie - the math doesn't care if you live or die, whether Citibank survives or crashes, or whether the US continues as a political entity. Here's a recent good post on what we are facing:

More Debt Won't Rescue the Great American Ponzi

The Intolerable Acts included a tax on Tea. So yeah, material matters mattered as well. In case you aren't up on current events, Eric Holder ring a bell? The complete socialization of our economy? Losing our National sovereignty? Even the States have recognized the threat and are taking the impotent step of passing 10th Amendment "resolutions" that are paper barriers at best. If those worked, we wouldn't be having this conversation as the Constitution wouldn't have been reduced to a pale joke in the eyes of the current administration.

Excuses, we have. Dozens. Hundreds. Millions of them even. Decades worth. There are some the Founders would be shaking their heads over wondering why we didn't right these wrongs long ago...

Elections? ACORN ring a bell? You are delusional...
