The food was overwhelming and delicious. We could not put a dent in the beverages, either. There was a big stainless fridge full of Molson's in the guest quarters.
Along with the regular cook, they had a bakery chef who turned out cookies, cakes, etc.
10 egg omlet ? Heck yeah ! Pork chops for breakfast ? ditto.

Definitely not any of the sailing I’ve ever done.

Shades of the EP-3 Incident early in the Bush Administration. The Chinese are testing Obama. Exactly what I was thinking. Bush handled that one adequately, sufficiently that China did not bother us again for eight years. I don't want to imagine what China will learn about Obama's backbone or lack thereof.

It turns out that Hillary had to come up with a novel money-making idea: B”uy T-Bills, Get to Shoot at US Armed Forces for 30 Minutes.” We’ve got hostile nations lined up around the corner.

That UK article (Guradian, I think) about the President being overwhelmed quoted someone close to the administration as saying that Barack is so wrapped up in the economic crisis that he hasn’t even “pretended” to be interest in national security issues.
Our country is in peril, in more ways than one.

I’m sure that however Obama handles it, freepers and many others will think it wrong.

The whole concept of fatty foods and cholesterol never reached the Great Lakes fleets. Pay is good too.

We used to have good food on the SURTASS boats when MSC crewed them, but they contracted out and food went downhill, besides, it hard to have anything fresh or new after 2 months at sea.

This will make him even more exhausted, the poor messiah. He should just wave his magic hero stick at them and make them disappear.

Well Biden did guarantee that foreign nations would do this kind of stuff.

I don't think it's so much the ChiComs messing with us as desperately needing a foreign distraction at home to take their peoples minds off of the difficult job/economic situation.
They really need the people to start waving the flag and thinking patriotism instead of thinking about their job that just poofed out of existence.
And we're just the likely target.
Or both. Distraction and messing with us. One does not negate the other.
