An interesting article, despite some snarky remarks by the author.(Boston Globe what do you expect?)

He’s dead, Jim. If you’re looking for him, a Ouija board will be of more use than all the scientific gear in Palo Alto.

You know, once we find bin Laden, terrorism will end.

Being able to scrape DNA from under tons of bombed out cave rock will be the only way they find OBL.

We were tracking Bin Laden using a spy satellite which tracked cell phone emissions. Senator "Loose Lips" Leahy announced this "secret" in late of 2001 and voila no more tracking intelligence!
Ordinary people with security clearances and access to classified material would be fined and in this instance would be incarcerated. But Leahy is a senator and a Democrat so he's above the law.
Phooey!

Ground penetrating radar, or any radar for that matter, doesn’t work in salt water.

Every terrorist forum on the planetpublished this stupid research when it came out last month. For certain Bin Laden, Zawahiri and other Al Qaeda terrorist leaders are very much aware of it.

"The researchers, using what is billed as the first attempt to apply scientific methodology to the pursuit, point to the lawless frontier town of Parachinar in northwest Pakistan as a prime place to search for the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks." Of course they would point to a place where it's not possible to go looking. Can't get grant extensions if the "science" proves itself wrong time and time again.

Bin Laden is thought to suffer from kidney disease requiring dialysis, and, thus, electricity. Peritoneal dialysis is done through the miracle of gravity, not electricity. You would still need dialysate, bags, tubing, and infection control. If OBL really has kidney disease, he could have had a transplant by now, from a very well-matched (thanks to inbreeding) fellow fanatic.

"If OBL really has kidney disease, he could have had a transplant by now, from a very well-matched (thanks to inbreeding) fellow fanatic." LoL! No doubt. There are plenty of "Achmed" peasants who would gladly give up a kidney for $500 and a month off from work at the local brick yard. Paki-Stan is the organ donor and transplant capital of the world. Plenty of wealthy westerners go there every year for bargain priced organ donations and transplants.
It wouldn't be a problem at all for Bin Laden to get all the transplants he needs. No need for dialysis at all. Transplants are cheaper.

This wouldn't be the same "science" that has deemed global warming "settled", would it?

Our vaunted military industrial complex needs a boogie man to keep the funding high.
You take out Bin Laden, maybe overthrow N.Korea and Iran and all the sudden those making oodles of cash on military hardware are selling pencils.

Interesting, but how can the researchers believe that nobody has thought of this over the last 7.5 years?
