I was at Holloman AFB, Alamogordo, NM

It was wonderful back then but I’m not sure I would want to be within 100 miles of the border nowadays.

If marijuana were regulated like alcohol, it would be a severe blow to the cartels. It is THE money maker:

John P. Walters, director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, said marijuana, not heroin or cocaine, is the "bread and butter," "the center of gravity" for Mexican drug cartels that every year smuggle tons of it through the porous U.S.-Mexico border. Of the $13.8 billion that Americans contributed to Mexican drug traffickers in 2004-05, about 62 percent, or $8.6 billion, comes from marijuana consumption.

One advantage we in Michigan is the fact we don’t have a 3rd world country next door. However we do have more than our fair share of their residents.

A friend of mine convinced me to NOT get a CC permit -- his rationale is that it creates one more public record with your name on it. Makes it easy for the Obama-troopers to come after you.

Here in Tennessee, the communist rag Memphis Commercial Appeal has posted the names and addresses of every CC permit holder in Tennessee. They are trying to attach a negative stigma to those who carry firearms and publicly focus scorn on the "bad" gun-toters.

That is childish reasoning.

Mexico is corrupt period. Always has been.
IF is wasn’t drugs, it would be something else.

Crime would be far worse with legal drugs, kids and
others on just marajuana will be robbing and killing
for money for drugs. Marajuana, a gateway drug, then
it becomes crack and coke, etc.

Bad enough drunk drivers, we don’t need more pot heads driving

I love my home here in Texas, But, I have stopped traveling down to south Texas. I use to love South Padre Island, but it is truely like traveling to Mexico. No one speaks english, and when the see my blonde hair and blue eyes, I feel like a target has been painted on my back.

Alleged acid disposal man for Mexico gang nabbed

By Marina Martinez, Associated Press

Saturday, 24 January 2009

A man accused of helping a Mexican drug kingpin dispose of hundreds of victims by dissolving their bodies in acid was arrested in the border city of Tijuana, authorities said yesterday.

A Mexican military statement said Santiago Meza Lopez confessed to disposing of at least 300 bodies over a decade, but authorities provided no further evidence to back the claim. Officials contend he dumped the bodies in graves, poured acid on them and let them dissolve underground.

The victims are believed to be rivals of Teodoro Garcia Simental, an alleged former lieutenant of the Tijuana-based Arellano Felix drug cartel, authorities said.

Soldiers and police paraded Meza, 45, before reporters at a cement-block shack on the outskirts of Tijuana where he allegedly disposed of the bodies. Two grave-sized holes had been dug near the walls.

I tried to sneak across the border last night to get to Mexico in search of what I thought would be a better life for me and my family....damn imagracion agents arrested me and sent me back to the Democratic Peoples Republic of NJ.

Bastards!

That drug violence is nothing in Jaurez. Try visiting Newark, NJ. The thugs there would put the drug warlords in Mexico to shame.

Right after WWII, my father-in-law was stationed at Fort Bliss and was ordered to accompany a young Army lieutenant to the border at Juarez to assist with a border riot that had broken out. A Mexican army major, with the approval of the lieutenant requested my father-in-law fire his truck-mounted .50 caliber "Ma Deuce" about six feet over the crowd just at dark. With the tracers flying overhead, my father-in-law said it was "nothing but asses and elbows" as the crowd fled.

One riot requires one Fifty. The bigger the trouble, the more Fifties you bring in.

The acid barrels is another one of their sports.

The gangs especially M13 are another problem.

The highest high school dropout rate are Mexicans.
It they get to the 10th grade, that is about it.
Next is crime and gov. handouts.

vacation there......why? for a little fun?

Nah, I'm off to Cozumel/Tulum next month. Hoping there's law and order there. Some scary stories coming through from other areas, not just the Northern border towns (drug wars) but also along the Pacific coast (banditos, sometimes aided by LEO's?).

If it gets to the point where Obama's personal army attempts to criminalize weapons for self protection, the documentation that indicates that is the purpose for owning the gun in the 1st place can only help.

Besides, your immediate concern is your safety, not Obama troopers just yet.

If you ever/have even seen the film “Touch of Evil (1958)” with Charlton Heston, Orson Welles, Janet Leigh, there is a scene in the first 30 minutes or so where a Mexican thug in TJ tries to throw a jar of acid at Chuck. He misses him and the jar hits a wall.

I guess the Mexicanos have been acidophiles for at least 50 years or so.

If illegals had to pay NJ property taxes, there wouldn’t be a single one to be found.

That was a great thread about ultralights...thanks :-)

Was probably what was going on here...although I do know there are some ultralight guys around here....one of them might have just been making a dangerous night flight for the thrill of it.
