Why some conservatives are backing Obama (flashback)
San Fransicso Gate ^ | 07/07/2008 | Carolyn Lochhead

"I do know libertarians who think Obama is the Antichrist, that he's farther left than John Kerry, much farther left than Bill Clinton, and you'd clearly have to be insane to vote for this guy," said David Boaz, executive vice president of the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank. "But there are libertarians who say, 'Oh yeah? Do you think Obama will increase spending by $1 trillion, because that's what Republicans did over the past two presidential terms. So really, how much worse can he be?' And there are certainly libertarians who think Obama will be better on the war and on foreign policy, on executive power and on surveillance than McCain."

I know how to stir up a controversy, don’t I?

In a period of less than 2 months, Obama has spent 3.6 to 4 trillion into debt. And I still may be behind in my count.

I can't believe anyone believed this nonsense at the time...

"I just hope they feel really, really stupid. I hope they realize they have the blood of the unborn on their hands."

No, these infants are now blaming us for what they did. They cannot accept personal responsibility for their own actions. It is always someone else's fault.

That is why they are called "useful idiots".

Yes, but I must admit my wife recently bought some bourbon a few weeks ago and I do like it.

These people are like a family where the kids are allowed to elect parents. Candidates come in and campaign for the position. The ones who promise the most ice cream, least homework, best cell phone plan, most secretive access to the Internet, minimum chores, etc. get the nod. Then it is time for the family to live with their selection. Soon they have none of what was promised. The kids were just too immature to realize that what sounds good can often be very difficult to deliver. And they learn that, as onerous as their replaced parents rules and policies were, they had come from years and years of experience.

I have never watched The Simpsons episode, but I suspect from what I've gathered from articles and the like that America has elected Homer and the Mrs. as POTUS. Feel free to suggest another cartoon couple is I missed the mark with the Simpsons!

Hey, I played by the rules. Rules I didn’t make and rules I don’t care for, but rules none the less. I get both, why should I be punished for the mistakes of others, some long before I was born?

Every payday for the nearly 60 years that I worked money was taken from me without my consent. I would gladly have had that money in my pocket all those years rather than being sucked out before I even saw it, along with many dollars from my employer, and I was taxed on it even though I didn’t have it.

Turns out it wasn’t as great a deal as those who envisioned it thought it would be. For one thing it wasn’t long before it wasn’t what they had envisioned in the first place.

I agree the system stinks, but it’s what was forced on me for a lifetime of work and I played by the rules.

For that to happen, they’d have to know what is “shame”. For the past 40 years, liberals have been turning that emotion sane people know as shame into a pedophilic trophy. Therefore, they cannot experience shame. Shame to them, is a turn on.

The balanced budget is a grand idea, along with the two-thirds required for passage to sell debt. I like it.

When I originally drafted this list, I included SS and Medicare recipients in the ‘non voting’ public sector. However, it seems to me that it’s not wholly voluntary to take SS and Medicare in today’s US; unlike Food Stamps and all the others. So, I put them back in the ‘voting’ sector.

Of course, my suggestions are just that...suggestions. So, if they serve to get the discussion started, that’s great. Howe they end up will be the consensus of all choosing to participate.

It’s time to take back the country.

How ‘bout this:

First, NO ONE getting any government check can vote.

Then, once the programs are reformed (which would mean abolished, but with the government honoring its “commitment” to currently elderly people) we let them vote once again.

The Catholic Church teaches that salvation is impossible without Sanctifying Grace, which is received by Faith. It also teaches that grave sin is a rejection of Sanctifying Grace. Thus, those who commit grave sin cannot be saved.

But the Church does NOT teach that “works” can cause salvation.

Seems a bit strident, but certainly bears discussion...
