The compression rings are complete rubbish. I’ve resorted to using the compression fittings with teeth.

Shark bites, huh? Did you try the compression rings requiring the special tool?

“Wait until the foreclosure sales are for bank buildings that nobody will bid on.”

Yep.

It seems like it would be in the Bank's interest to issue a new mortgage to the owner at a lower valuation (like auction price). This would avert the costs of foreclosure and the carrying costs of holding the property until auction, plus the bank could probably negotiate a better price than what they would get at auction.

Full disclosure: I'm not a banker, nor have I lost billions of dollars from toxic assets.

Yea, I like that about PVC/CPVC. I’ve plumbed hired man quarters with PVC/CPVC. I just put in air connections and drains so I could blow the lines out with the air compressor at the end of the season.

Photographic evidence of the decline of America into a 3rd world Nation.

It's amazing to me that some people thought we could ship all of our jobs to third world nations without becoming one ourselves.

At that point it wouldn't be a legal stretch to consider the property effectively abandoned by both lender and borrower and (*SURPRISE*!!!) the city/county/state/feds swoop in and seize the property.

Okay... but what if you pay the taxes? Not the mortgage, which is an agreement between you and your lender, but just the taxes? The city/county/state/feds wouldn't have any reason to sieze your property. In fact, you could potentially buy the place from the city for back taxes, and own it free and clear.
