It's a good start. Call it, oh, idk, "American exceptionalism." I see Rush now has 25 million listeners, so he is doing something right. Btw, Who is "Rod Dreher" and how big is his audience?
All these stories are basically the same, just different “author”. No wonder the WH and 0 can’t handle day-to-day business.
On that thought, wasn’t 0 supposed to be able to multi-task. I recall when Bush submitted the first socialist bill, and McCain suspended his campaign, everyone in the media and their cousin on Daily Kos et al. was all about how 0 can do two things at the same time.
Anyway, sorry for the tangent, this article is more of the same and will only increase the number of Americans that listen to Rush every day. Which means more people will be exposed to conservatism.
I LOVE, LOVE , LOVE how the LEFT (the lazy socialists especially) are trying so hard to discredit the master Rush. The more they talk about him, the more I JUST SMILE. He just keeps growing his audience and their heads are actually exploding over his popularity! GO RUSH. WE ARE PROUD OF YOUR ACHIEIVEMENT. The hate-filled loonie left forums are trying to get him off the air, yet again, L O L ! Lovein’ it! The socialists parasites are in for a BIG awakening in 2012.
Code word “inflexible”: means we need to abandon Conservatism and join the socialist march over the cliff and into the abyss of serfdom.
He's been "chipped".
The media members have all been "chipped". A small RF tag, smaller than a grain of rice, is inserted via needle in the center of their brains.
This allows the Democrats through the front group "Media Splatters" to provide Direct Satellite Broadcast transmission of liberal talking points directly to their brains, such as they are.
This keeps the media zombies with a timely, lockstep message.
If they had really listened to Rush; we wouldn’t be sitting in this situation today.
Exactly. Every Tom, Dick and Harry is writing about the Rush thing in the hope that more than 6 cousins will read their column for once, and everyone says almost exactly the same thing. Must be DNC issued boilerplate.
On principle, no there is not!!!!
He is a conservative?
Thank goodness he is counting himself out. We are better off without him.
Wow.
Dreher was too busy on his knees swallowing the Dems talking points.
As do I.
And, IIRC, wasn't Rush responding to Chris "Gotta Thrill Up My Leg" Matthews' comment saying that he (Matthews) hopes that Obama "succeeds"? What kind of racist drivel is that? You hope that a President "succeeds"? Why would you think that he wouldn't be successful simply because he is black?
And, another thing, Steele's response to all this was another embarrassment.

Yeah, Rod, too bad the Constitution isn't a "living" document, like a Wiki, so you could edit it and win over some liberals...
Whenever I want to know what Republicans should think, I always turn to the Dallas Morning News. (/sarcasm)
Some time back, Rod Dreher decided the National Review was too right wing for him. I happen to agree. NR is too right wing for him.
“there is nothing conservatives need to rethink in light of dramatically changed circumstances”
That is correct because Rush and *we* are based in philosophy and a set of principles, that indeed are unchanging.
The Dems are based in policy, which does change over time and with circumstances.
Therein lies the difference. Conservatives have positions on issues and polity flows from our core philosophy. We are anchored to our principles, and liberals have none. For example, we believe in Respect for Life. What is the liberal counterpart to that? If forced to state them, their core principles would be ludicrous - “chose death”, “government can spend your money better than you can”, “it depends on the meaning of the word ‘is’”...
That’s why they always want to play the “we have better policies” game. It’s all they have to talk about.
Ron Dreher is a former contributor to NRO. His "Crunchy Con" book, from what I understand attempts to reach "the Granola Conservatives."
He may still write for NRO; they'll let anyone post an idiot article as long as they call themselves "conservative."
But I don't know.
