I don't think there's much hope in 2010. We could have a 1994 style "Conservative Revolution," but Obama isn't Clinton. Clinton was a political pragmatist and gave quite a bit to Newt and the Republicans. He eventually signed Welfare Reform into law, and several other of the "contract with America" legislative measures.

I think Pres__ent Obama is much stronger idealogically, and I think he'll veto anything that a Republican congress might do.

Besides, if we have a choice between 2010 being a reprise of 1994, or of 2012 being a reprise of 1980, I think we will be better off as a nation with a stronger conservative comeback everywhere (Congress, Senate, and Presidency) in 2012.

One thing is certain. By pushing so hard, so quickly, the Dems are putting a lot of energy in the pendulum. That might mean that it swings back even stronger from this energy when it finally turns back. That's all we can hope for.
