The real views of many in Obama administration were laid bare by a State Department official involved in planning the Brown visit, who reacted with fury when questioned by The Sunday Telegraph about why the event was so low-key. The official dismissed any notion of the special relationship, saying: "There's nothing special about Britain. You're just the same as the other 190 countries in the world. You shouldn't expect special treatment." The apparent lack of attention to detail by the Obama administration is indicative of what many believe to be Mr Obama's determination to do too much too quickly. What a bunch of clowns! Let's see, aside from the fact that they're our allies, perhaps the fact that they have boomers sets them apart from the other 190 countries...

This whole episode begs a large question:

If they can so badly botch the visit of a PM, what else are they botching?

What else are they screwing up real bad, but no one has noticed quite yet?

Can you imagine what a fiasco we’ll be in six months from now?

My favorite quote from the piece:

“The Sunday Telegraph understands that one of Mr Obama’s most prominent African American backers, whose endorsement he spent two years cultivating, has told friends that he detects a weakness in Mr Obama’s character.”

“The one real serious flaw I see in Barack Obama is that he thinks he can manage all this,” the well-known figure told a Washington official, who spoke to this newspaper. “He's underestimating the flood of things that will hit his desk.”

And just who could this mystery “African-American backer” be?

0 is being trashed in a foreign newspaper by his new best friend forever Colin Powell.

Friend of mine served in the WH during Clinton’s first term as a local liaison to foreign dignitaries. He tells some incredible horror stories about snubbing national leaders and making grave errors like thinking the president of a country really runs it and not the general who appointed him. This stuff cost us billions of dollars and a lot of face.

You never heard a peep from the media. That Obama’s gaffes are getting out does not bode well for our nation or the world.

Shouldn't the state department know there are 193 sovereign countries?

To all you Lefty Brits who hated "Cowboy" Bush and were orgasmic over Obama, I have one thing to say:

The idea that some Foggy Bottom flunky would say Britain has the same significance to America as, say, Zaire, makes my blood boil. That’s even worse than the screwup with the Browns’ visit.

Not only are they an ally but they are THE ALLY.

Since WW I we have been joined at the hip. If Britain Sneezes the U.S catches a cold and vice versa.

Dear God, how did this bunch worm their way into the Presidency. Its like all the Bad Traits of FDR, Clinton, Carter, and LBJ rolled into one with no redeeming qualities whatsoever on the other side of the ledger.

I understand that he has some 1200 white house staff...plus all the state dept. people...NO ONE KNEW THE "protocall" for an important visitor???

I suspect what we have here is that our "dear leader" is a megalomaniac and doesn't take direction or even suggestions too well....
