Could very well be true. One thing is certain—he never did have many friends, did he? That just ain’t normal. How could someone so “charismatic” and “compelling” not have attracted a large circle of friends? Could it be that once they got to know him, they fund him personally repugnant? At any rate, I’ve never known any adult, let alone a major public official, who had such a mysterious past.
