“Diversity of ownership”? What does that even MEAN?
Is this entirely a matter of ethnic ownership, or is political viewpoint also included? Does this mean that a local newspaper, or even a larger chain of newspapers, may purchase and control a media broadcasting or cable network entity, or a group of entities? Where is the “diversity” in that?
I am in favor of breaking up NBC, much like AT&T was divided into “baby Bells” a number of years back. Or at least separating the umbilical cords.
