Article 4, § 5 of the Alaska Constitution: "The governor shall fill any vacancy in an office of supreme court justice or superior court judge by appointing one of two or more persons nominated by the judicial council."

Doesn't look like Palin had much of a choice.

She did have a choice. Don’t take anyone who she knows will abrogate her sworn oath to defend innocent human life. Leave it vacant until they provide someone who understand the basic premises of our republic and our laws.
