Newt Gingrich Eyes 2012 Run

Newt Gingrich is keeping an eye towards 2012, the former speaker of the House told reporters Thursday evening before a speaking engagement at Randolph Macon College.
Gingrich said he and his wife, Callista, “will look seriously and we’ll probably get our family totally engaged, including our two grandchildren, probably in January 2011, and we’ll look seriously at whether or not we think it’s necessary to do it,” he said, according to the Richmond Times Dispatch.
“And if we think it’s necessary we’ll probably do it. And if it isn’t necessary we probably won’t do it,” he said.
At the Feb. 28 annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., Gingrich garnered 10% in a straw poll of potential 2012 candidates. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won—for the third straight year—with 20%, followed by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal with 14%, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin—both of which received 13%.

It isn't at all about perspective, post 39 makes crystal clear that Gingrich was no where near being a draft dodger and that he also flunked his physical.
POST 39 "Gingrich wouldn't be considered a draft dodger, he was already married by 1962, already had children by 1963 and had his Bachelors degree by 1965 and his PHD by 1971. Even in 1971 he was diagnosed by the draft board as having flat feet and nearsightedness. He isn't someone that was ever a part of the draft dodger efforts."
Not at all Ansell, he CHOSE to get married and pursue a PhD; young men his age were regularly being drafted and EVEN MORE volunteered. Newt had “other priorities” while men his age were serving, nothing prevented him from not seeking a deferment or even (heaven forbid) stepping up and joining. The fact that he did not speaks volumes.
You are ignoring the language, draft dodger has a meaning, it is someone that went to extraordinary or even illegal efforts to avoid the draft, it does not mean simply not being drafted or not enlisting. Gingrich was not a “draft dodger”

I don’t know but I interest is in your having described him as a “draft dodger”, you were wrong.
When you 19 and you marry ....”marry”...your teacher I’ll take the liberty of guessing motives. The problem with Gingrich is as you examine his life, it is expecially unsavory. In that respect he’s really the anti-Reagan.

I should have made it clear that none of those things were going on in 1962.
A Draft.
It was the slowest draft year since 1949 only 82,000 guys were drafted that year. The draft of that era was focused on older men and Gingrich could not have passed the physical any way, I doubt that he married his teacher as some kind of plot to avoid a tiny draft.
Why do you ignore the fact that you are misdefining the term “draft dodger”?
He went on Greta and slammed Rush....and he made a stupid global warming ad with Nancy Pelosi.
