Anne Nazareth, the highly accomplished Wall Street lawyer who bailed out of the deputy Treasury nomination, is also highly accomplished (husband to former Fed vice-chairman and now TIAA Cref president Roger Ferguson). They both have stellar reputations — and stand to do a lot better — in the private sector. It’s mostly people like Geithner who go into government.
