Online columnist Sally Denton (a Nevada native and author of a book on Nevada politics): Rumors swirl in Las Vegas that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is in the process of establishing residency in Nevada with his eye toward unseating his fellow Mormon.
David Bernstein in the Boston Phoenix in Romneys home state: Mitt vs. Harry Reid? If youre looking to sell a palatial estate in Nevada, I think I might know somebody wholl be looking to buy soon.
Hint: Mormonism is an asset in Nevada. (Reid is Mormon, in fact.) Romney, you might recall, campaigned hard in Nevada and won the caucuses there, helping to blunt his loss in South Carolina. The genius of running against Reid is that, win or lose, Romney becomes a hero to the GOP just for taking it on. I think hes planning to do it. Of course, he doesnt actually live there, but thats easily fixed.
Hardly! If he does run, he needs to win!
But will he?
I also read this urging Romney to move to Illinois and run for Governor. http://americandaily.com/index.php/article/849
Sounds good to me. Reid is an idiot that needs to be gone. I will support Mitt in the cause.
Last week, we read that he was moving to San Diego to help Meg Whitman run for governor!
Why does it say “Son of” Romney? Does the writer mean George when he says “Romney?”
Mitt bought a home in San Diego many months ago and has been living here part of the time over the recent months.
One thing about Mitt is that he doesn’t shy from a fight.
Reid is Mormon, in fact
Reid is Moron, in fact(fixed it!!!)
Romney has many options that will be great for the GOP:
1. Run for Governor of Michigan
2. Run for Harry Reid’s seat in Nevada
3. Run for Barbara Boxer’s seat in California
Unfortunately, I think he doesn’t do any of the above. I think his eye is on 2012 and he can’t afford to run and lose in 2010.
I’d rather him in the Senate or as Governor rather than President.
I think that the author is referring to his earlier Romney v. Reid article:

Romney living in Nevada? He lives everywhere doesn’t he. He has homes in Taxachusetts, Cali, and Utah. I can see the Dems portraying Romney as a Carpetbagger.
Senator, sure. President? Not so much.
Mitt came to help Ms. Bachmann (?) in MN during the 2008 election. She said something bad about Islam and the GOP ran away from her.
Mitt and conservative radio & listeners stepped in to help her. Mitt and conservative voters donated money to help her.
Some people thought she was toast but she won. I like her too as she is a real conservative. Mitt has also helped other GOP candidates.
Romney vs Reid in 2010?
Mitt Romney is not going to run for that crap assignment and we know it. The GOP has a golden opportunity to unseat Reid but my guess is it will punt (and I don’t blame Romney).
Punting is something the GOP has been good at lately....I just wish they wouldn't do it on 1st down.
Very interesting approach to get rid of Reid. Perhaps one of Mitt’s sons could do it. Either way, it is going to take a ton of money to get rid of Reid.
BTW has Reid’s LV commissioner son decided to run for governor yet? The current governor, Gibbons has destroyed any chance of being reelected.
I agree with those that say Mitt will be a huge GOP hero if he takes this on.

He may have used to shy away from fights, but not this new Romney. He is a man's man now since 2007!
They'll be here with their lame spam soon enough to prove the point.
No, people just don’t believe all the rumors.
People aren’t going to waste any time taking this seriously when only weeks ago he was buying a home in California to run for office there, among other rumors.
The rumors keep popping up keeping his name in the news but there is no sense in getting all serious and analytical about each one of these silly stories.
It is a little premature to have to get all solemn and heavy.
This story sounds fabricated.
