Fact: Japanese children regularly encounter depictions of rape, slaughter, mayhem, war, dismemberment, disfigurement, homosexuality, transsexuality, people having sex with aliens, robots, and tentacle monsters, and much worse in their entertainment media. Yet few grow up to practice these things. I wonder why?
They are dealing with declining birth rates and skyrocketing suicide rates though. Could that be the trade off?
The Japanese are also close to extinction because they are not real-sexual enough to procreate a new generation.
Oh, btw, you got your Monarch now, just how well do you like Emperor Obama?
Maybe because there’s only five of them?
Ichi the Killer was not geared for kids either (but the director encouraged kids to cut class and see the film by whatever means they could).
In all seriousness, have you considered the demonic aspect? In a spiritual sense, Japan is one of the darkest nations on the planet. If you're Satan and you've got a kid worshipping a demon or two and viewing Christianity as something that might as well be from another univere, why both trying to get him involved in rape or knocking over convenience stores?
Because there are no tentacle rape monsters in real life?
No, they just grope helpless women in subways, instead, a practice so common that some train lines run women-only train cars and they run ad campaigns in the subways telling men not to grope the women. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Take a look at the marriage and birth rates in Japan, as well as the sexism. Japan does a lot of things right. Relations between the sexes and sex isn't one of them. I laugh whenever an anime or manga fan tells me how well adjusted the Japanese are despite sexually explicit and violent anime and manga.
Ever seen any movies about Japanese behavior in WWII?
