Is Europe Falling Out of Love with Obama?
Yahoo News ^ | 5 March 2009 | Leo Cendrowicz

Europeans were among the loudest cheerleaders for Barack Obama during his presidential campaign. Soon after he won the Democratic candidacy 200,000 people turned out in Berlin to hear him speak. But now that he is settled in the White House, many Europeans feel snubbed.

Just six weeks into his presidency, Europeans are already fretting that Obama has yet to visit Europe. His Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, flew west for her first foreign trip, spending a week in Asia last month, before traveling to the Middle East. Meanwhile, Obama has returned the Winston Churchill bust that sat in the Oval Office for the past eight years to the British. Indeed, some Europeans brood that the new President's only nod toward them came with the family decision to adopt a Portuguese water dog. (See pictures of presidential dogs.)

This, on top of the story about his "magnanimous" gift to PM Brown and his wife - a stinkin' DVD of "classic American movies". Yeah, like the PM doesn't have cable or anything over there in that hick backwater called "England".

This cracks me up about Berlin. One of the first things Obambi did was take away their contribution to ‘inventing’ the first vehicles and gave it ignorantly to the Americans. Idiots didn’t say a word. If it was Bush . . .. Well you know the drill.

“decision to adopt a Portuguese water dog.”

This is seriously mentioned as being of importance to an entire continent?? The choice of a dog?

I’m sure that will go really far when an Iranian or Russian or North Korean nuke heads for a European capitol.

Now that Obama has become president he represents America. Europe was never in love with America to begin with, they were just in love with the idea that someone was skaing things up over here. Now they’ve simply reverted to their previous position.

Seems the only thing the Obama’s are willing to cut back on are gifts to our greatest ally. I suppose it’s necessary in order to have more money for Hamas.

I didn’t care if the eurotrash lefties liked Bush and
I don’t care if they like Obama! Why don’t they mind their own business. Is everything running smoothly in Europe?

I agree. The euros loved Obama because he was anti-Bush. Now that he represents America, they’re back to their standard hatred of America.

Blah, Blah, Socialism, Blah.

They see he’s going to blow up deficits beyond whatever a phony “conservative” party would ever dare in America, and make the world pay for them.

The French play the same deficit game but on a smaller scale making smaller Eurozone countries pay. They know.
