Pelosi on spending bill: Take it or leave it By Mike Soraghan Posted: 03/05/09 12:57 PM [ET] House Speaker Nancy Pelosi confirmed that if any changes are made to the omnibus spending bill in the Senate, she thinks Congress should scrap the effort and pass a continuing resolution to cover spending for the rest of the year.

“That is the plan,” Pelosi said at her weekly news conference today. “If we started to open up that package, the changes would be endless.”

Pelosi said the $410 billion omnibus spending bill was negotiated on a bipartisan basis before it was introduced this year, so it shouldn’t be changed.

The Senate is set to vote Friday morning on cloture for the bill, which has been criticized by both Republicans and Democrats for the 9,000 earmarks it contains.

Well, Ms. Emperess — We don’t want it, and we don’t want YOU. Why don’t you take your ‘Let them eat cake’ attitude back to the sordid hills of San Fran and glory in the muck there.

Who elected YOU Queen?

if the wusspublicans had any brains at all (a stretch to be sure) they would continue to unanimously oppose everything the demholes do. Do non give them the perceived cover of “bipartisanship”. Unfortunatelt, the msmwhores will portray them as the party of no, and it will hurt their feelings, and they’ll cave.

I wouldn't have a problem with a four year continuing resolution - at least things wouldn't get worse except for the emergency bills.

...which is endless, so, technically, she's correct.

“Pelosi said the $410 billion omnibus spending bill was negotiated on a bipartisan basis before it was introduced...”

The sad part of this statement is that it's probably true - A rarity for Pelosi.

The Reps probably have their usual 40% quota of earmarks in it, about the same % as their numbers. Further indication to me of the absence of any real differences between the Dems and some RINOs.

Six of the top ten are Republicans. Sickening. That’s at least 6 GOP votes to pass it as is.

Here's the liar McConnell, on the bill:

“Our children and grandchildren can’t afford this level of spending. And they will be the ones left to pay off the federal government credit card that Democrats in Congress are busy maxing out.”

What a laugh.

Pelousy is such a nitwit; she nearly defies description.

These humongous spending bills have gotten the attention of the public, and the public is getting pi$$ed. The conservatives need to keep beating this drum...let people know that the DhimmiRats own the whole shebang (along with a few liberal RINO’s who should switch parties).

It’s time to take back the country.
