Officials at the FBI's New York field office - the first line of defense in preventing another terrorist attack here - got so spooked by the threat of bad weather that they declared a "snow day" Monday.
Millions of other New Yorkers with jobs unrelated to national security managed to trudge through the snow while the FBI stayed warm at home.

There was only 5-7 inches of snow in Manhattan on Monday.
The President could “toughen up” and send his kids to public school.
That’s what he demands for other blacks.
The only thing that irritates me more than this “snow day” excuse is The Family Leave Act or whatever that thing that Clinton started was called.
School was closed for one day after the blizzard of ‘96 here.
There were snow dunes almost as tall as I was.
This is pathetic! It would never have happened under President Bush.
Back in the early 80’s there was a huge blizzard. we all still went to work and people were skiing and sledding on 2nd avenue...
One can wonder if terrorists will now watch the weather channel more regularly, set up the process for future events and then wait for the FBI-handed opportunities!!!!!
I’m not so sure it wouldn’t have happened under Bush. The FBI has been a pathetic organization for quite some time.
You do have a point there....sadly.
When was that?
Blizzard of ‘96.
I figured as much.
Is that you in the picture?
