Democrats' Diversionary Tactics
The Washington Post ^ | March 5, 2009 | John Boehner

Posted on 03/05/2009 5:30:45 AM PST by joygrace

In the first two months of 2009, the Democratic Congress and the White House have spent more money than the combined cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and the response to Hurricane Katrina. After they doled out taxpayer dollars at such a blistering pace, the instinct of many inside the Beltway is to do what's most convenient: desperately try to change the subject by creating straw men -- called "the party of no" -- to rally against.

And in a carefully calculated campaign, operatives and allies of the Obama administration are seeking to divert attention toward radio host Rush Limbaugh, and away from a debate about our alternative solutions on the economy and the irresponsible spending binge they are presiding over. This diversionary tactic will not create a single job or help a single family struggling in today's economic crisis. And that is where our focus should be.

Make no mistake: This strategy did not develop out of thin air.

Obama's objective is to distract, divert and deflect away from the truth.

Obama hopes no one realizes that he is really not interested in as John Boehner writes, "finding a way to work together to get our economy moving again."

The sooner Republicans realize this is exactly what Obama is all about maybe then they will PUSH BACK.

Hopefully, our Republican elected officials will figure out that being the “party of no” is what the majority of the American people want.

The thing that pi$$es me off the most is that I live in a very modest home, drive older cars, my wife and I work hard and long and PAY OUR TAXES, but now Comrade 0bama has decreed that I have to give money to some guy in a McMansion driving a Benz or some welfare queen with ten kids who never worked a day in their lives!

Did you see where Obama’s plan covers mortgages people can’t afford up to $730,000?

While I'm in Iraq my wife is handling a Social Security disability issue for a relative. OMB Watch links are everywhere. OMB, sounds like Office of Management and Budget, right. Not, it is a front group for Obie that now has backdoor entry into peoples private business. Just wait until John Q Public learns that the SSA doesn't think they are good enough to be the payee for their mother's or father's or husbands disability or Medicare payments and has that responsibility assigned to an agency who can take 10% right off the top. Folks it is too late for this country. I don't know if we can recover from this.

"It's no secret that middle-class families and small businesses across our nation are hurting. Their job security is diminishing, their budgets are tightening, and their 401(k)s and college savings are evaporating. During this recession, they are being forced to make difficult budget decisions; unfortunately, Congress and the administration do not feel the responsibility to do likewise. Instead, the profligate spending we've seen over the past two months is simply breathtaking -- and it's exactly why some here in Washington are scrambling to change the subject."
