Just a thought, but subsequent children are a bit easier no? I know my wife said she wanted her epidural naturally, our twins could come out then!

Somehow I think telling her there would be no epidural would have been rather dangerous... (We did stop after the 2, 1 of each kind, we did our part!)

Not really. I was 21 and 25 for the first 2. I was 34 for my 3rd. For the first one, the epi wore off before we were done. For the 2nd, it made me vomit and have a crashing headache AND made the baby groggy. I had my 3rd naturally at 2:11 and was in the shower by 4. It was great. No side effects, just a baby. :-)

Not for me.

Well, easier in the sense that you know what’s coming, but just as difficult as far as pain, and all that.

I’ve done it both ways, and preferred “natural”, but that’s me. I have seen women who clearly did not know how it was going to feel or how to handle the pain. They thrash around and scream; you can hear then all over the floor, depending on the setup of the hospital. Those women need an epidural, if only to maintain a sense of calm about themselves and to prevent panic in themselves.
