Libertarian poll: What is Obama trying to distract us from?
Party needles White House over attacks on radio host Limbaugh
WASHINGTON Americas third largest party is asking Americans to vote on what they think the White Houses ongoing war with conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh is intended to distract attention from, Libertarian National Committee (LNC) Communications Director Donny Ferguson announced Wednesday.
The LNC has posted a poll at www.lp.org asking Americans to cast their vote for one of five harmful Obama policies the White House hopes their spat with Limbaugh will distract attention from.
Every time Obama announces higher taxes on unemployment, the market tanks. Economic research shows his spending plan causes long-term economic damage. Hes keeping 50,000 troops in Iraq and breaking his promise to end earmarks, said Ferguson. Now, with polls showing more and more Americans oppose his agenda, Barack Obama needs a distraction. He gets it by having his operatives pick a fight with a colorful radio personality.
Instead of solving our economic problems by reducing spending during a recession and granting tax relief to job creators, Obama has instead chosen to kick mud at a radio entertainer, said Ferguson. Thats not change or hope. Its a tired old political trick pulled out when youre making problems worse.
Libertarians may not always agree with Limbaugh, but you dont have to agree with him to see the White House is latching onto his celebrity hoping Americans will pay attention to that and not the economic damage Obama is causing, said Ferguson.
While the White House is busying whining about an entertainer and Republicans are busy inserting their wasteful earmarks into the budget, Libertarians are busy cutting spending and creating jobs in their private businesses. Its clear the Libertarian Party is the only party with an agenda for renewal, not waste or petty spats, said Ferguson.

The Libertarian Party is America's third-largest political party, founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties. You can find more information on the Libertarian Party by visiting www.LP.org. The Libertarian Party proudly stands for smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom. -30-
Poll ping
I voted for "Economic research showing Obamas spending plan prolongs the recession and eliminates jobs." It's leading with 56%.
Limbaugh is a distraction and the press is joining in on it.
Limbaugh is a distraction for the White House, not by the White House.
As for the poll — I’d bet this is a clever White House ploy to distract most Libertarians from their bongs.

What particularly gets to Obama about Rush is that Rush wants him to "fail". The Dems are trying use this to say that Rush and the Reps are unpatriotic. Obama and the US are one in the same. Whatever Obama wants is good for the USA. That's the message and the Dems are using Rush to spread it.
I'll not hold my breath waiting for Obambi to accept Rush's debate offer.
Answer : Communism
Pretty close. He doesn’t want us examining his FY 2010 budget and stimulus package, which rrepresent a major step down the road to socialism and worse.
It is so unfortunate that some freepers here think all there is to the libertarian position is drugs. Go to fee.org and learn about Foundation for Economic Education, go to vonmises.org and read up on the libertarian economists. Read Murray Rothbard. Spend some time at cato.org. Of course, the drug war is a huge encroachment on liberty, with asset forfeitures and habituating Americans to Swat-team type military in our midst. And of course, if you own yourself, it's up to you what you ingest. But aside from that, none of the Libertarians I know have any interest in doing drugs.

First of all — it was a joke. Lighten up. Secondly, what is more unfortunate is that libertarianism has been hijacked by a bunch of college hippies wanting the right to light a doobie.

I know plenty of libertarian theory. Economically, I usually agree. Morally, I sometimes don’t. They’re right on some issues, wrong on a few ... and spend far too much time barking about their right to live stoned.

On asset forfeitures, I agree. On the rest — not really. Law enforcement is a proper use of government authority.

Only to the extent that your actions do not endanger or encroach on the rights of others. Important caveat.
>> But aside from that, none of the Libertarians I know have any interest in doing drugs.
I’ve known several that would test your anecdotal hypothesis.

Must be a brand new poll. Only 271 voters.
Oh. I didn't get it was a joke. My husband always says jokes go right over my head.
