Limbaugh Wants To Debate Obama
CBS ^ | 3/4/09 | Brian Montopoli

Posted on 03/04/2009 12:50:16 PM PST by pissant

Radio host Rush Limbaugh, whom the White House has repeatedly suggested is the true head of the Republican Party, is challenging President Obama to a debate.

“If these guys are so impressed with themselves, and if they are so sure of their correctness, why doesn't President Obama come on my show?,” Limbaugh said today. “We will do a one-on-one debate of ideas and policies.”

“They wanted me to be the focus of attention,” Limbaugh continued, referencing reports that the White House is working to tie him to the GOP. “So let's have the debate! I am offering President Obama to come on this program -- without staffers, without a TelePrompTer, without note cards -- to debate me on the issues. Let's talk about free markets versus government control. Let's talk about nationalizing health care and raising taxes on small business."

“If you can win at this, then come here and beat me at my own game, and get rid of me once and for all, and show all the people of America that I am wrong,” he added.

The White House had no immediate response to the request.

Never happen.

How do you debate cap and trade, nationalizing industries, wealth redistribution, ect. ect, without alerting the public the perils of all

I predict that Rush will keep egging him on and it will be picked up by the media.. Bambi, out of his own narcissism will accept(sic) on his own terms- that being something that would be impossible for Rush to accept- maybe being on MSNBC with Chrissy Matthews as the host and fully in charge of editing with no external cameras or recording allowed.

As long as it’s life and without teleprompter, I’m fine with a moderator. Any liberal media turd being partisan, gives Rush only another mole to whack.

Rush would have him tongue tied and excusing himself in under ten minutes. I’m not a gambler but I might make an exception.

Barrack Obama is a little man, and he is scared of real men. He will come up with some excuse, or will wag the dog.

In the exuberance to advance the great idea of attacking Rush, they didn't think ahead to the next step in the game of escalation...now how do they back down?

Didn't Harry Reid try this game? And how did that turn out for him????

I’m more concerned with editing (thus should be live) and who controls copies of the tapes. Let’s say MSNBC hosts, even if they play it on a five or ten minute delay, they can creatively edit it.. if Rush’s side has their own way of recording and/or having original tapes, they can have a come back.

Yes. Rush should insist on live coverage without breaks. This way Obama will be lost.

The kenyan would be as pathetic as he was during the O’Reilly interview, minus Rush yelling. I am sure the kenyan would be quite flustered and giving the smug staredown while Rush thoroughly owns him.

Rush manages to be both hilarious and biting at the same time with this. 0 made a huge mistake trying to call him out, and is going to wish he hadn’t, if he doesn’t already.

This is Rush’s “all-in” raise to Obama. Obama will fold and this little tempest will blow-out.

You could award this to Rush beforehand with no problem.

Absolutely.

Can you imagine the ratings for this? The t.v. networks must be salivating at the prospect.

As soon as RUSH challenged ZERO, Gibbs said talking about RUSH was counterproductive. HA!

When dealing with a Lib always, always call their bluff.
