Yes. It ALL still applies.
You may choose to sit out the Pledge at public events if you like, if your interpretation is different. You are also free to leave the country at any time and apply for citizenship elsewhere.
As for me, I was born an American and intend to stay an American.
Don't think you know anything about me by implying I do anything but rise and salute our flag. However, if 70% of your countrymen cease to do so, and elect officials whom are hell bent on changing the America you were born in into something that is decidedly and markedly NOT America, do you intend to salute the same flag? Would you have been a "good German"? Note that I am NOT calling you a Nazi, but asking if you would have still saluted the flag of Germany given what the Nazis turned that country into? You might say, "no, I would have fought the regime and helped the Allies", but what if there are NO Allies, and no outside, free country left to liberate you and like-minded individuals? At what point, if any, does it become THEIR flag?
Unhappy, dispiriting points to ponder, but important. Keep also in mind the End Times aspect to not calling yourself a member of a nation that curses Israel (which the administration is close to doing, if they haven't already done so with Hillary's Mideast trip).
