No, talk radio may actually save the business, say two analysts.

Of course.

Let me use an analogy every *guy* here at least can relate to:
Which would you look harder for as a 12 year old kid - a lost homework paper or your older brothers collection of Playboy magazines?

Point being - the fastest, best, surest way to create demand for something is to try to ban it or limit access to it. The Dem-wits may not be smart enough to realize this, with their silly talk about “fairness doctrine”. In reality, I don’t know if Rush and the others could take the increase in pay such a move would create for them.

Agree...its seems; WaPO, is warning the 'Rats

The economy won’t sink talk radio, only the reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine would sink talk radio.

In Portland, ME, a "talk for men" station switched to conservative talk the other day ("talk for men" moving down the dial) thus leaving the city with 3 conservative stations (WGAN 560, WZAN 970, WLOB 1310)--and no libtalk stations. WLVP 870 had been Air America but dropped it for sports and then nostalgia due to low ratings. Thus leading to these comments on a radio fan board:

>>Well, it looks like I'll be taking 970 off my radio presets. Does this mean we are flooded with right wing radio on three AM frequencies in this market. Why not flip one to progressive talk. I sure would like to hear Stephanie Miller locally.

>>Right now they're playing an endless promo loop for the exciting new line-up, debuting tomorrow. Sounds like Imus, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Phil Hendrie and some guy I don't recognize. Wow. Between these folks, Rush, Glenn Beck & Howie on 'GAN, I think we have a pretty strong argument in favor of restoring the Fairness Doctrine. Then again, maybe they'll flip 'YNZ to a Greatest Speeches of the Reichstag format.

>>Aren't some of these shows on WLOB?* What's up with them? Anyway, thank God for my satellite radio. At least I can listen to intelligence via NPR, CBC, BBC and WRN.

*--they were; they moved to WZAN

Progressive talk was given a chance in the free market and did not work. There's always the FD--you know, the one that went down to defeat in an 87-11 vote in the Dem-dominated Senate...

Phil Hendree is a really funny talk show host. He runs a comedy radio show where he brings up a subject and interviews someone who has a different, and sometimes really outrageous viewpoint, but it’s all Phil Hendree doing voice impersonations!

Phil Hendree is a national treasure, not the childish reactionary on NPR.
