Rush Job: Inside Dems' Limbaugh plan
Politico ^ | 3/4/09 | Jonathan Martin

Top Democrats believe they have struck political gold by depicting Rush Limbaugh as the new face of the Republican Party, a full-scale effort first hatched by some of the most familiar names in politics and now being guided in part from inside the White House.

....

The seeds were planted in October after Democracy Corps, the Democratic polling company run by Carville and Greenberg, included Limbaugh’s name in a survey and found that many Americans just don’t like him.

“His positives for voters under 40 was 11 percent,” Carville recalled with a degree of amazement, ...

"I hope he fails,” Limbaugh said of Obama on his show four days before the president was sworn in. It was a time when Obama’s approval ratings were soaring, but more than that, polls showed even people who didn’t vote for him badly wanted him to succeed, coming to office at a time of economic meltdown.

By February, Carville and Begala were pounding on Limbaugh frequently in their appearances on CNN.

Neither Democrat would say so, but a third source said the two also began pushing the idea of targeting Limbaugh in their daily phone conversations with Emanuel.

Yes they want Rush to replace Bush as demon, the names even sound alike. Theme goes like :”Forget the stock market the R party leader Rush wants Obama and America to fail. Tell R party you are tired of politics”, Rush was MSNBC every show yesterday as theme, not live. Any republican was asked if they aggree with him, that premise.

This is nothing new. It is a tired old tactic that goes back to the days of Clinton.

So the most powerful people in the world are attacking a person who does not even hold office, only rendering opinions through a microphone?

Amazing.

A “democratic polling group” finds that their idiots don’t like Rush? Quick- alert the media!

Rush isn’t the “face” of the republican party- he IS the “voice” of a great many conservatives who are being shown the door by the “moderates” in the party. He was the first, and is still the best, at giving the conservatives a national voice. I like that the demonRATs are still so threatened by him, and better still, that Obama is also, now, threatened by him.

I want my country to be successful, so I also hope BO’s policies fail.

Rush is way smarter than these schmucks. He will turn their tactics right back on him. Truth is always on his side. Who cares that young people dont like him. Most of them probably have not even listened to more than a few clips of him on Keith Olbermann or the Daily Show.

Rush is the new Karl Rove. The problem for RATS is that the more people are exposed to the real person instead of the ratmedia lies about him, the more they will reject those lies.

Speaking at CPAC was a smart move. It let people who dont listen to radio see the real Rush, not the false portrait created by the enemedia.

I hope the Dems keep doing this. They have no sense of reality.

I don’t know. The fact that the rats have to repeat this over and over again, with the help of their propaganda arm in the MSM, tells me that it’s not working. Rather, they are allowing conservatives to rally. Is that really what they wanted? Something tells me that their polling numbers show them something troublesome.

“... the Democratic polling company run by Carville ...”
___________________________________________________________

Which means nothing. Carville is filled with snake venom ... he has the most vitriolic words for our leaders; and the Republican party that exist in America today.

Really. Dis ... him.

people who dont listen to radio see the real Rush, not the false portrait created by the enemedia.

The DNC/admin is trying to hammer home the "Rush said he wants Obama and America to fail" cropped soundbite home.

So it's a race between that, and Rush's clarifications and hammering them for hammering him.
