Let's see. Texas is in some of the BEST shape of all the states in the Union.
Good universities (A&M, SMU, TCU, UNT)
We have high tech
We have deep water ports.
We also have an independent electric grid
We also have nuclear weapons manufacturing and storage.

Texas would do just FINE by itself or taking a few other states with us.
