Russia may downplay the quid pro quo, but it wouldn’t surprise me that they will take up Obama’s “bargaining chip” one way or another. The very fact that Obama has made this a negotiable item puts us in a position of weakness in any negotiation and it sends the wrong signal to the Poles and Czechs who have gone out on a limb accepting the missiles. Just plain dumb.

so, has the actual letter been leaked, or is Russia holding this back? Seems to me, if it was just what Obama said it was, then he looks weak and stupid; if it was anything worse, then the Russians will release its actual text at a time calculated to maximize harm to America’s interests (not sure what those are anymore...) or they will release a fraudulent document claiming it is his and dare him to publish the original...thoughts?
