I bought an SKS back in the mid-1990’s (and 1,000 rounds)when I was afraid Clinton was gonna take away our guns. It is the only gun I own and I fired maybe 20 rounds.
I will not give it up.
I’ve also been divorced and moved five time since I bought it.
Meanwhile I am picking up a Remington 870 12 guage today.
The SKS is an excellent, and inexpensive (used to be anyway), rifle.
SKS is a great little rifle, and fun to shoot.
Had one at the range, a few years back, and an older gentleman came over wanting a look. Hadn't seen one for years, he said, and never close up. We talked about it ... and guns in general for a while. Last time he had seen one, it turned out, was in 1969. It was about 20 yards away, and pointed at him ... I thanked him for his service, and gave him a couple of boxes of ammo to shoot.
It seemed to settle something in his soul.
Never cared for the SKS until I fired one. Now I have a collection of Russian and a few other countries. Good choice on shotgun.
