he Obama White House has begun advancing an aggressive political strategy: convincing the country that the real power behind the Republican Party is not the GOP leaders in Congress or at the Republican National Committee, but rather provocative radio talk show king Rush Limbaugh.
President Barack Obama, top presidential aides and outside Democratic allies have been pushing the message in unison.

With the White House working to make Limbaugh the face of the GOP, it is getting some outside assistance.
A tax-exempt group that supports progressive causes — Americans United for Change—is helping finance a television ad that claims GOP leaders are beholden to the radio host. The ad closes with Limbaugh saying of Obama, "I want him to fail."

Brad Woodhouse, president of Americans United for Change, said the group has discussed the ad campaign with the Democratic National Committee. Woodhouse is joining the DNC next week as its communications director.
Asked whether the White House was notified about the ad, Woodhouse said: "They certainly are aware—I'm sure they're aware of what we're doing."

On March 3rd CNBC was almost unanimous in putting the blame for the market drop now as all OBAMA’S FAULT!
they even had a democrat from the finance committee trying the BS “inherited” line. It fell solidly flat.
At this point, Obama is OBSTRUCTING THE RECOVERY, per cnbc.
In addition to Joe the Plumber, I think it’s actually a good thing that Zero is after Rush

I kind of agree. In doing so, what they have
done is target and identify their enemy, and
raised him up to equal status with them.
That is huge .... the leader of the free world
publicly agitating, demonizing and baiting a
talkshow host?
Can you even fathom in your wildest dreams that
Pres. George W. Bush would raise the specter of
Randi Rhodes, Stephanie Miller or Ed Schultz in
such a personal way in a presser or public speech?
Or that Dana Perino would’ve stooped to the subjects
and language of Gibbs, the official crank mouthpiece?
Absurd.
It has diminished the status of the highest office
in the land.
In the continuing psychodrama, he has galvanized
Rush’s audience to a new level of disdain and
activism.
The more his speech has been replayed over and over
again (thank you, Greta and Sean) new people have
gotten to hear him.
They’ve now repeatedly heard him factually say that
conservatives love people, we want them to be the best
they can be, that we love and cherish our country and
our freedoms, and that we’re all granted the same
opportunity for the pursuit of happiness, but there
may not be equal outcomes, depending on effort and
passion.
It can’t be bad that millions more heard that message.
Bottom line: in demonizing Rush, he has actually
demonized Rush’s huge audience. Us.
I think that’s a big part of who he and Rahmbo
really have the long knives out for = us.
The totality of misery and pain from this crew
in the daily lives of Americans and the extreme
changes and coming massive losses of liberties
and net worth have yet to be fully realized or
experienced by us yet.
Give the harsh realities some time to fester and
putrify in the souls of the angry, newly poor,
oppressed, overly controlled, law abiding, hard
working, responsible, tax paying voters.
And then, you know what they say about unintended
consequences ....

The Kenyan is doing the right a favor by calling-out Limbaugh.
The base needed firing-up and the Kenyan is providing that.
We ought to thank the foreigner for his help.

I have lived in California most of life and it has been dominated by Democrat's, like forever, and they always get reelected and look what we're going through, almost bankrupt. Our country cannot follow the same path with these tax and spend policies. God help us. Semper Fi folks-—Hopefully 2010

Well, I think people get news and learn some things here at FR, they get perspective they migh not get elsewhere.
The complaining, hell, they SHOULD BE COMPLAINING! (There’goes agin, sticky Caps Lock key)
But it should extend WAY BEYOND these forums and brought to our hard-of-hearing, yellow-bellied politicians.
The American people didn't want to get involved at the outset of WWII, either.
Up until Dec 7, 1941, the countries invaded or "annexed" by the Axis Powers include: Austria, Sudetenland, Bohemia & Moravia (Czechoslovakia), Memel, Slovakia, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, The UK Channel Islands, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and others.
Then Pearl Harbor was attacked. When it affected us directly, we were forced to respond -- for justice and self-preservation if nothing else.
I am not to impressed by Rush's joining at the preservation of his own livelihood in Talk Radio. Don't get me wrong: I appreciate what he brings to the fight. But frankly, he should have joined the battle HARD AND HEAVY before this, instead of giving RELATIVE aide and comfort to the enemy like he has up until recently!
To paraphrase a Rush-ism: A snake is a snake, a tiger is a tiger, Barack Obama is Barack Obama... if you're waiting for Obama's agenda to affect you directly before you get involved, you're already behind the power curve!

If Limbaugh’s silenced, we would need to step up to the plate and live our passion. We unite door by door, street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city, state by state until we are across the nation.
Those most articulate among us would speak for the rest of us. The larger our numbers grow, the more pressure we exert on Congress. We do it by numbers and, most importantly, relentless pursuit of preserving our country. We must be unequiviably FOCUSED on a single message, “Preservation of the Constitution”.
Abortion, for me, is not the fight at this time in our nation’s history. Our, CONSTITUTION, FREEDOM and our LIBERTY TO SUCCEED AND PURSUE THE BEST WE CAN BE is what is at stake with this administration. Prioritizing goals and whittling it down to 3 core basics is essential. Otherwise our entire message will be muddled with too many issues for America to grasp.
We are all Rush Limbaughs when you come to think of it. We all are passionate about our beliefs and care deeply about America. Rush has the microphone and best expresses our passion. But within us all, we can be equally as driven and relentless as Rush..In particular, we will be very convincing in huge numbers.

They can't hurt "US" without hurting their base, and turning that base against themselves.....They haven't figured that out yet.
The fact that the President of the United States takes time out to attack an entertainment figure and considers him a real threat is, frankly, embarassing and juvenile.
It’s really odd that he is so threatened by this. I understand the hatred of conservatives, but come on, really?
Where’s the outing of Levine? Levine not too scary? I find him by far more aggressive than Rush.
But hey, I like ‘em both.

Thank God for Rush Limbaugh. If Michael Steele can’t defend that CPAC attendees against claims of being Nazis, then Steele can shove it. I’ll keep my money and I’ll keep my time.

In a not too short period of time, the economy is going to fall on their heads like they never imagined.
During the Carter years, college grads not only couldn’t find jobs in their chosen fields, they had a hard time finding jobs as hamburger flippers.
I believe the coming economy will be the Carter economy on steroids.
They had “hope and change” during the campaign.
They may still have “hope” for a while.
But, I think “change” is going to bite them in the butt, and yank them into reality.
That is, of course, unless Obama hires all of them, which he may well do.
Regarding “Elites vs. Grassroots at CPAC”, this is a very good article.
“The GOP does need to return to its roots. Of this there is no question in my mind. There’s little public argument about this even from the outspoken establishment types at CPAC. Yet we still see a lot of derision of Wurzelbacher and Palin from those same establishment types. It doesn’t seem to make much sense to disrespect the people whose values you claim to share, does it?
The main reason for the objections to many grassroots heroes is not that people like Wurzelbacher lack forceful, clear articulation. Rather, it’s that they espouse traditional conservative positions. The suggestion by the elites is that those principles need to be ditched if Republicans want to regain power. The major critique is not whether they are effective spokesmen for the cause.
Sadly, what I’ve been seeing the last couple of days in a lot of the anti-grassroots traffic coming out of CPAC is that we’re about to repeat the history of the pre-Reagan years. Then, Republicans lost sight of their principles and ended up aping the Democrats in promoting the worst aspects of the welfare state.”

Obama’s Limbaugh Strategy Will Fail
Sad but telling and not altogether unexpected that a presidency allegedly about unity and the future is revealing itself to be about nothing more than creating divisions and power in the end. This strategy won’t just fail, it’ll backfire on Obama. He didn’t have a united opposition. Now he will and ultimately it isn’t about Rush.
Democrats are engaging in a concerted campaign to link the national Republican Party to conservative talk-radio show host Rush Limbaugh, an effort that will ramp up over the next few days in the form of another round of television ads and an increased rhetorical focus on the issue from Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine, according to sources familiar with the plans.
Any new attention Limbaugh gets fromthis won’t hurt him as much as it will define and hurt liberalism in America. He isn’t an unlikeable sort. And he’s perfectly capable of standing up for himself.
The American people don’t like witch hunts. They don’t like political correctness and nanny states, which are Rush’s real opponents, not Obama. Team Zero is miscalculating in a great many ways these days. Big surprise.

If by "Republican Elites" you mean people that have an appreciation for well-reasoned, intellectually convincing and factually supported argument and not just ideological drivel, then yes, I'm a "Republican Elite". And, I'm in good company. Bill Buckley, Milton Friedman and Henry Kissenger just to name a few.
And here's the funny thing, when I read your post I think bathroom attendant.
