Brass tacks. On main street, people lost their jobs and wonder how the gov will help the recovery. Local gov responds with higher prop, income and sales taxes and fees. Fed gov sends billions and trillions to Wall Street, while main street gets 16 bucks a week?? expiration of Bush taxcuts??? 2010 Dems will lose Congressional seats, because in 2006 and even 2008 they won GOP districts by slim margins. If main streeters do not see job improvements by 2010, Dem Congress is toast. Talk to main streeters, they do not want welfare, they want a JOB!!!!!

Exactly right. An Incentive economy is something that most Americans understand. They understand on a basic level that we are not building anything when money is pilfered from one group and given to another. The problem is that people have been conditioned by the media to feel sorry for others that are too lazy and/or incompetent to make it on their own. Most people in this country don't want to be seen as 'heartless', so expecting anyone to be 'self-made' is out of the question and it's so bad, that the 'self-made' have even been made out to be envied and loathed. People really believe that things like 'racism' are holding certain groups of people down, hence 'white guilt' electing the half-black Communist in an economic downturn simply because they bought the nonsense that 'he cares.'

I think we should allow Obama's Toxic Stimulus, bank bailouts, idiotic energy policy and other FAR LEFT POLICY to run their course. These ideas will finally be exposed as the BS that we all knew it to be and then MAYBE Average Americans will see it, regain their sanity and put Conservatives in power, ala Reagan Revolution.

Once the majority in the mushy middle realizes how HARD LEFT Obama and Democrats really are, they won't want anymore. I predict gains in 2010 and 2012.
