I think the targeting of Rush will either be one huge backfire or the end of him. There is no in between here. I hope for the first.

Once a President of the United States, be he Democrat or Republican, has decided to fight it out with a media personality, mano a mano, on the same playing field, be it with Rush or Al Franken or Hannity or Michael Moore or Bill O'Reilly or Rosie O'Donnell, that President of the United States has lowered himself in the public eye and has made a fool of himself.
Dan Quayle learned that lesson after picking a fight with Candice Bergen and her "Murphy Brown" character and he was only a Vice President.
