Poland and Czechoslovakia never had a chance to be ‘ungrateful’ after FDR and Truman threw them onto Uncle Joe's bus at the end of WW II.

Since they got free, they've sided with us, generally against the Western Europeans’ wishes [Didn't Mitterand tell them to ‘shut up’(?)]. That goes for the Baltic States, too. They've all sent troops to Iraq.

Can you remember the damage Democrats did to this country's credibility to friend and foe alike when they threw the South Vietnamese and Cambodians to the wolves? I can.

Do you remember the old Reagan commercial, “There's a Bear in the woods”? Well, the bear’s back. And throwing loyal allies to the bear because Obozo has no b*lls is no reason for satisfaction, of any amount, on any level.

I understand your point, it’s unfortunate what happened after WWII, but that was 64 years ago, and the calculus is still the same...these countries are on Russia’s doorstep. What is different now however, is that most of those states belong to the EU and thus cooperate for their own defence...that’s the purpose of the European Defence Agency. If they think they need a missle defence shield, they should go to Brussels and try and get one.
