Pelosi Snowed-Out of Global Warming Rally Monday, March 02, 2009 By Josiah Ryan and Ryan Byrnes
(CNSNews.com) Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had to cancel an appearance Monday at a global warming rally in Washington, D.C., that was hit by a snowstorm because her flight was delayed, her office told CNSNews.com.
Brianna Cayo-Cotter, the spokesman for the Energy Action Coalition that held the rally, told a group of reporters that she had been in contact with Pelosi and that her flight had been delayed because of inclement weather.
A blizzard Sunday night and early Monday morning blanketed the nations capital with snow, causing events to be cancelled and delayed across the city.
House Select Energy Independence and Global Warming Chairman Edward Markey (D-Mass.), who was scheduled to speak at the global warming event, also canceled his appearance because of the inclement weather, a spokesman from his committees office told CNSNews.com on Monday.
Speaker Pelosis office confirmed to CNSNews.com that her flight had been delayed, but they could not say where the flight was coming from or whether she was flying commercial or charter.

Yes, and every since the Terminator declared a state wide emergency for CA because of drought it has been raining and will continue to rain all week. We were already 92 percent of normal but he had to declare an emergency to justify denying farmers water this year in order to save a fish no one ever sees or cares about. Letting people die from hunger, that’s fine, letting a fish die is a no no.
It's snowing in Montgomery, ALABAMA !...
IN MARCH!!
bwahahahahaha
Rove and his weather machine again, no doubt!

Nope — a pea is way too large — how about a grain of sand???????
For those of us with long term memory, this happens every year.
The GW crowd is just too dumb to schedule their rally for July 4 — they always have it in winter.
yeah, we just plowed/shoveled 5 inches of global warming this morning...lol!
The youtube page carries a date of 1 April 2008, and there have been 1,309,515 viewings.
I do not think ir’s an April Fool’s day matter.
Just saw the report on Fox. Not a bad turnout considering the weather, but then again the schools and many colleges were closed with the snow so the lib kids had the day off with nothing to do. Then my day off was ruined when they interviewed the old helium head himself, Bobby Kennedy Jr. He pontificated how we have to close down all the coal mines, and make Appalachia even poorer.
Since “civil disobedience” at power plants usually involves lying down in front of trucks, I suspect there was very little of it at this demonstration because the demonstrators would have had to lie down in slush, mud, salt, and goo.
Irony is beyond Comrade Nancy’s comprehension.
The event did occur, however, and despite the lawmakers' absence, about 500 protesters braved temperatures in the mid-20s and congregated on the Capitol lawn.
Someone's got to have pictures of this. Please!
500 protesters? Of which 499 are on the payroll and told they must go....
LOL, I’ve got TWICE what you have! AND, it’s still snowing!
What a bunch of buffoons..........braving temps in the mid-20’s for a global WARMING event, you gotta love these morons.

GORE HEARING ON WARMING MAY BE PUT ON ICE
Mon Jan 26 2009 17:59:26 ET
Al Gore is scheduled before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday morning to once again testify on the 'urgent need' to combat global warming.
But Mother Nature seems ready to freeze the proceedings.
A 'Winter Storm Watch' has been posted for the nation's capitol and there is a potential for significant snow... sleet... or ice accumulations.
"I can't imagine the Democrats would want to showcase Mr. Gore and his new findings on global warming as a winter storm rages outside," a Republican lawmaker emailed the DRUDGE REPORT. "And if the ice really piles up, it will not be safe to travel."
A spokesman for Sen. John Kerry, who chairs the committee, was not immediately available to comment on contingency plans.
Global warming advocates have suggested this year's wild winter spells are proof of climate change.

March 7, 2007 --- A Congressional subcommittee meeting on Energy and Air Quality Hearing on "Climate Change: Are Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Human Activities Contributing to a Warming of the Planet?" was cancelled due to a snow advisory. "A SNOW ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING."
Recall that greenhouse hypothesis maintains that warming due to increases in the greenhouse effect is anticipated to be greatest in the winter.
