Thomas Sowell is black, as are Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas, Alan Keyes, Ward Connerly, Jesse Lee Peterson, etc. Therefore, there is nothing about the factual status of being descended, partly or totally, from sub-Saharan Africans that requires a person to be a fool. Being a fool is a choice, no matter what one looks like.

Holder should make a second speech on race, this time specifically taking blacks to task for keeping silent on the abandonment of their personal responsibilities. Not a chance.
He's not about to dis' his Bro's and Ho's.

Being a fool is a choice, no matter what one looks like.Naw...I know too many chronic fools...to believe it's purely a choice anymore.

I didn’t say “purely” a choice. Nothing is “purely.” Nonetheless, a person can decide to make the effort to overcome social conditioning, bad habits, and resentments legitimate or illegitimate and become a responsible person. Many, of all races and ethnicities, do.

Voting for the Dems have never even helped them, in any way! Don't they have the brain to see that? LBJ kept them on the plantation by keep them dependent. Yet they love the Dems.
The Repubs tell them they can succeed, but they buy the Dems' rhetoric because the Dems have always been their slave-masters.
To: Bullish
Holder’s comments were about power—giving himself latitude to do whatever he wants, and putting whites on the defensive so they won’t try to resist. He wasn’t speaking in good faith.
To: Tax-chick
But you know just as I know....millions can't and won't, no how, no way.
They will continue to be fools....until they reach room temperature.
Personally I don't even think it's a choice for many....they have been dumbed down and/or brain washed so long...they simply can't see, what we can clearly see.

The Repubs tell them they can succeed, but they buy the Dems' rhetoric because the Dems have always been their slave-masters. 40, 60 years later, you'd think they could figure it out for themselves,
It's no different from what I would call white trash.
(not, PC, I know)
Point is, anyone can succeed, and we all have challenges.
They choose to whine, and cry, and AFAIC, people who think they are the only ones in pain, well, they piss me off.

people who think they are the only ones in pain, well, they piss me off.Oh, me too, unless it's something truly disastrous that just happened. I often tell the children, "I don't want to hear, 'I'm hungry, I'm thirsty, I'm hot, I'm cold.' It's exactly the same temperature for everyone in this room. It's been the same length of time since everyone's last meal. So just shut up!"

LOL, exactly.
Put on a sweater, or take one off.
Get a glass of water, and then wash the glass.
(Wash the glass? You cruel mom!)
Wait for dinner, it will be ready soon!
You are doing a good job of preparing your children for the real world, where nobody gives a flying...

(Here, think of comedian Bill Cosby, who is castigated for saying that too many low-income blacks have not held up their end of the nation's civil rights gains.) I am sorry, but old Bill came out and endorsed Obama last election. He's as racist as Jesse Jackson. Bill Coaby, racist. Write it down. Bastard.

A dialogue on race is always a bad idea. Few people in real life from any background really want to pick this scab. This is prudence and decency, not cowardice.
Hardcore liberals disagree — they think therapy can help us “cope” with anything. Unfortunately, the past is written in stone. And since we have a black president, racism obviously isn’t one of great problems facing today’s America.
But, some people are just stuck, frozen in time in a 1960s time warp; nothing can be done for them.
