Conservative activists on Saturday named former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney the winner of a poll for best 2012 GOP presidential candidate.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won 20 percent of the vote in straw poll for presidential favorites.

The poll marked the third consecutive year Romney came out on top

When I say you talk a big game I mean you talk it but don’t back it up.

I couldn’t give a hoot whether you think Romney is conservative. What I do take issue at is the notion that anyone who finds anything about Romney appealing is not a conservative. It’s baby talk.

“I do talk a big game and back it up with facts and the truth.”

No you don’t back it up. You still haven’t explained which issue I disagree with you over which makes me not a conservative. You still haven’t explained that if Romney is a Republican in the true mold of Nelson Rockefeller, a true raging unhidden liberal if there ever was one, why would he pass up easy liberal opportunities that Rockefeller would’ve foamed at the mouth over.

Yes and the implication of that statement was that Fred or Duncan were the only ways to go. Duncan was a non-starter. I already explained Fred’s problem.

Let me ask you a hypothetical question that you won’t honestly answer: If Fred Thompson had won the nomination and he still lost to Obama, what would you say then? Put that shoe on.

Thanks for the links I don't think that I pinged you to this post, but in it I used the Esquire article. I was kind of shocked by seeing the nonsense that org.whodat is posting.

I knew that the left was doing some racist mocking of Jindal but I didn't know about this huge disinformation campaign that is going on from, not just all of the left but also from some weirdo types on the right.

I only wanted to ping you a couple of times to remind org that his BS is out there in public view and that it can become embarassing, I think that part has run it's course, thanks for the responses.

You are posting bizarre lies and you will not post a link to your sources.

Post the link to your sources like the one about his mother living and working in Saudi Arabia.

Esquire Magazine: (Jindal's mother) "Raj switched from nuclear physics to the budding field of computer science and was hired by the state of Louisiana as one of its first IT people. (Thirty years later, she is still working in the same department. Technically, Bobby is her boss.)"

As I explained to you several times on this thread, if conservatives had united, we could have gotten a genuine conservative candidate to rally behind. The last thing the GOP needed in 2008 was to nominate any one of the four major candidates who represented the GOP's moderate-centrist-liberal wing — Giuliani, McCain, Romney and Huckabee. Republicans shouldn't be settling for anything less then a full fledged conservative candidate. I would rather have gone down fighting with Fred Thompson as the GOP nominee. As it was, the GOP nominee limped across the finish line in second palce, with Sarah Palin dragging John McCain by the scruff of the neck all the way. Kinda ugly results, but it would have been uglier if Mac had not chosen Palin.

We have simply GOT to quit chasing voters. It’s like the prettiest girl in the ninth grade. Remember how all the guys were falling all over her trying to get her attention. She loved the attention and wouldn’t give any of them the time of day. But then one guy came along who ignored her and it drove her crazy! He knew who he was and was content with himself. She saw that and couldn’t resist climbing over the host of adoring boys to get to that one.

Socialism does not work. Period, end of tale. Never has, never will. It might look like it’s working for a time, but eventually it runs out of other people’s money and its shortcomings become very apparent. Capitalism, OTOH, has worked every time it’s been tried. Has to be true capitalism though, coupled with conservative principles, not socialism-liberalism lite.

Something about his parents not being citizens before he was born.

My goodness! Dew tell!

He was born in Baton Rouge. I didn't know Louisiana had left the union.

Unless LA has left the rest of the states, that qualifies as the constitutional "natural born" requirement.

His mom, incidentally, is an information technology employee of the state of Louisiana.

You brought up Tom Tancredo.

I don’t know why Tancredo keeps supporting Mitt, do you?

I remember Tancredo saying he thought Duncan was great but he had even a less of a chance than he did.

...and then Tancredo pulled out.

No. I think he endorsed Romney because he didn't like McCain. Up til then, Tancredo use to be one of my favorite conservatives. No more.

I’d like to see Palin win a senate seat next year. Is an Alaskan one up for grabs. THAT lady would not be afraid to Filibuster 10 times a day. Make ‘em vote to shut her up 10 times a day.

Not sure when the Alaskan Senate seat is up for grabs. Winning a Senate seat would give Palin some serious political gravitas and would help the GOP oppose Obama.

Romney is a lame duck, Qwack.

The RAT's and RINO's are still trying to undermine Conservatives.

Forget Romney, just another luke warm what ever. I am not sure he is even a Republican. He is just John McCain warmed over. Get rid of him and all of those alsorans. We need new blood, new faces, and new ideas, we are not going to win with blathering about pro choice, or any of the old drawn out B/S. We need new people with new ideas.

What wins is plain old Conservatism. Not new ideas.

Why "THE F" do people think they need to re-invent conservatism!

Good grief!

“I WAS NEVER PART OF THE REAGAN REVOLUTION”.

That is just one statement amongst thousands that will keep me from ever voting for that POS willard... I pledge with all of my heart that I will NEVER vote for another beltway chosen, rino approved, dim lite candidate again... and I would never vote for willard... period... now nominate another loser and lose again... it is not like the future of our Nation or even our own lives are at stake!

Romney is a republican party insider, and I have no intention of backing any GOP insider.

I have left the GOP and am now a total independent. I will only vote for a true all-around conservative in the future. If they’re not pro-life, pro-God, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-self defense, pro-America, pro-ownership, pro-independence, pro-sovereignty, etc., then they’re not getting my vote.

And I could care less what anyone thinks.
