Sometimes the obsession for control of the climate got a bit out of hand, as in the Aztec state, where the local scientific/religious establishment of the year 1500 had long since announced that the debate was over and that at least 20,000 human sacrifices a year were needed to keep the sun moving, the rain falling, and to stop climate change.Avid Coug you stopped your excerpt one sentence short.
The widespread dissatisfaction of the people who were unfortunate enough to be the source of these sacrifices played an important part in the success of the Spanish conquest of Mexico.
Policies have consequences.

What pisses me off is that I had to search high and low to get this transcript in non pdf form and not a lot of excerpts, yet if Al Gore had addressed this committee on the same day for the same length of time, we’d have the whole damn bucket of drivel all over the MSM and NOBODY can place Gore on anywhere near the level of intellect, credentials on the issue, or scientific achievement as Dr. Happer.

True, Neverdem, but I didn’t want to create false hopes.

The whole hockey-stick episode reminds me of the motto of Orwells Ministry of Information in the novel 1984: He who controls the present, controls the past. He who controls the past, controls the future.
Dr. Happer is quite quotable dont you think?
