Physicians: Obama Plan Will 'Shut Down Hospitals'

Doctors are forecasting the closure of hospitals and clinics across America and a mass migration of physicians and their assistances to other careers should the Obama administration succeed in its attempt to overrule their rights of conscience.

"Thousands of conscientious and compassionate physicians, nurses, hospitals and clinics currently serve poor women and those who live in medically underserved areas," said David Stevens, CEO of the Christian Medical Association today.

"Many of these professionals and institutions are motivated and guided by longstanding Hippocratic ethics and biblical principles that preclude participation in abortion and other controversial procedures. Infringing on their right to practice medicine according to these life-affirming ethical standards will force them to leave the profession and to shut down the hospitals and clinics," he warned.

Why anyone in the health field would suddenly want to become a civil servant is beyond me.

Last time I saw my doctor he came out as a raging Conservative.

Made me look like Lenin, by comparison.

I was proud if him.

Best they stick to their standards and trust in the wisdom of the juries.

They'll be going before people like them, not like Obama (as long as they stay out of DC, New York, Chicago, San Fran, LA and a couple of other places, and that ought to be real easy to accomplish).

I’ve been saying for a long time that the people will pay for the election of Zero. We’re going to lose an American city to terrorism, millions will lose jobs and homes, and tens perhaps hundreds of thousands of people will lose their lives because they cannot get a doctor or a hospital.

If malpractice was tossed out (being government workers, why would you need malpractice?)....then the government would just assume the cost of any screw-up. You’d get life-long care via the government program...with no more $5 million, or $20 million or $50 million law suites. This would be a crazy change which would have lots of people questioning the wisdom of doing this. Adding to the mess...is the fact that most of the folks in rural America barely have any healthcare options today...and I don’t see this fixing or improving it.

Obama's Plan Will Shut Down Hospitals

I believe that's what he, and his fellow left-wing extremists, want.

You may be on to something here. This could be the perfect situation for jury nullification.

Obama, Rangel and Frank told banks how to run their banks and look at what we got.

Now they want to tell doctors how to practice medicine. The results will be equally spectacular.

And this is the point that conservatives and the medical industry should be making:

Socialized medicine has never worked ANYWHERE. The great inventions, procedures, technologies, pharmaceuticals don’t come from socialist countries.

If you want poor quality medical care, then fine. I don’t. I’m willing to pay for it. I’ll gladly pay the doctors, nurses, hospitals, companies who help keep me healthy and one day might very well save my life or those of my loved ones.

Exactly what The Kenyan wants. How better to ration healthcare than by creating an instant shortage of care givers?

Most Docs don’t want to be indentured servants to the Messiah and his minions. Unfortunately, like in many other professions, the organization that “speaks” for Docs, the AMA, has become very liberal over the years. Most of the conservative Docs are working 80+ weeks, with little time for organized medicine.

The last time I cared to look, the AMA’s enrollment was close to or at it’s lowest point in history.

The Messiah doesn’t care what anyone has to say.

Wait until he finds out what they will do.

I did 25 years in health care. If you do not have a love for people, you can not succeed. You will hate the job and resent the patients.

That’s exactly the plan: make it impossible for private charitable institutions to serve the poor while maintaining their standards. When they pull out, replace them with federally-run clinics, which will serve as a jobs program for Obama supporters.

The latest threat is that Medicare won’t pay for “bounceback” admissions: If you get sick more than once in 30 days, tough luck for someone.

The goal is to force everyone with expensive chronic diseases to go on hospice or no-care.

Those of us with a conscience will soon lose our board certification and, probably, our licenses because we won’t sign an oath promising to perform abortions and “assist” with “suicide.”

Anyone for the American Society of Underground Medicine? (ASUM — Pronounced, “Awsome”)

You have no rights under a Socialist Government other then what that Government grants you.
The day Obama took office the Constitution became a thing of the past....

“The one” will get around this problem of objectors by lowering licensure - such as allowing for “pregnancy termination techs” to perform abortions, etc. If he can dumb-down medicine, more of the dumb can perform more procedures in their unionized jobs. And, he’ll do it and claim he’s “increased the number of jobs.”
