P.S.
Taxation (State revenue) is not the goal, here, it is freedom.
Freedom to do what appear stupid things to others, such as spending (wasting?) hours on end, watching sports games on television each weekend (something I consider a HUGE waste of national resources and labor effort) — but BY PERSONAL CHOICE.
Private businesses should retain the full right to DISCRIMINATE agains drug use, and the right to test empoloyess for drug use before hiring them. But citizens have equal right to use drugs in the privacy of their own homes - and as a consequence, they will (voluntarily) limit the number of job opportunities available to them in free markets as a result.
Each retains control of private property and free choice and action.
And who attends the addicts and their bastard children? Who pays for the increase in crime to support drug habits?
There is a reason why no country on the planet allows an open door policy on drugs. What you are asking for is anarchy, not freedom.
Read the article. Read many of the other articles regarding California's plan to legalaize pot.
It ain't about freedom, pal. It's all about the money.
The STATE wants to bail itself out of its financial problems on the backs of dopers.
And Libs are OK with this? They are OK with GROWING government to an ever higher level?
This is why I'm saying: Libertarians - Put down that bong and think about the consequences of legalized dope.
I DON’T support taxation. That was my point. Are you High??....
;)
Do you drink the Ron Paul kool-aid?
I’m here right now...
