. . . than with serious, thinking leaders with cogent, well thought out AND PRESENTED ideas for dealing with the economic collapse the Bush/Wall Street crowd left us. Huckabee is right.

I can't believe I'm reading that quote on FR. Populism, with a foundation based in total ignorance, is alive and well in the Republican Party.

How can there still be conservatives out there oblivious to the CRA and the criminal actions of the Democrats in their pillaging of Fannie and Freddie? Apparently, Obama and his Marxist fellow travelers aren't the only ones who've declared war on investors, businesses and entrepreneurs.

“Populism, with a foundation based in total ignorance, is alive and well in the Republican Party.”

Not ignorance, M. I watched it happen, often times in my own conference room.

“How can there still be conservatives out there oblivious to the CRA and the criminal actions of the Democrats in their pillaging of Fannie and Freddie?”

Virtually all of us know about CRA, Those of us who have cared to find out are also aware of the fact that the CRA is at best marginally responsible for a very small part of the economic meltdown in this country. Crooks in “mortgage companies” and appraisal companies and “mortgage brokers” and banks and investment banking houses and insurance companies with the credit default swaps all had their hands out for a piece of the action as even prime mortgages made their way into the hands of huge international conspiracies like HSBC and Deutsch Bank and USB which packaged them up with the help of financial gangsters on Wall Street and their fellow travelers in London, Berlin, Paris and Geneva, sliced, diced and sold the resulting AAA+ rated garbage to each other and outfits like BOA, Citi, Lehmann, and Chase.

I hope to God someone has declared war on those greedy crooks. And the crooks had best hope its just the government coming after them and not a mob of unemployed Americans who played by the rules, paid their bills and now have little or nothing left to show for it.

I do too. Perhaps I wasn’t very clear. Long day yesterday. I flew to FL to interview a rock and roll legend about a book I’m doing on rock, but the planes were running really late last night.

Absolutely not. I doubt there is a faculty member on campus who doesn’t know my “proclivities,” and probably half the sober students, too.

LOL. You're the only one going nowhere with your arguments. Rush is the lone voice making sense.

He has never, ever called O a homosexual or implied it in any way. And I listen to Rush pretty much 100% of the time.

2) He has never made any overt reference that I can recall to drug use by O. So you've slandered the man twice.

The Left goes after its targets based on their effectiveness, which is precisely why they attack him and not some "real conservative" without "baggage." (Presumably Ron Paul or some nutjob?) There is no one---NO ONE---in or out of politics as effective at laying out the conservative case right now as Rush. Course, you really know that, don't you?

Former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-Ark.)... pointed to the Bush administration’s failed response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005

Although there are many things for which to criticize Bush, this is not one of them. We conservatives need to put blame exactly where blame is due; on Ray Nagin and Kathleen Blanco. The feds can't do anything until the local government FILLS OUT THE FORMS!!!!

Better shout it from the rooftops, because only 1 or 2% of the public have any idea about this. I do not include most of the media in the 1 or 2%.

Republicans would have already gone the way of the “free soil” party or the “know nothings,” except there is no all-coalescing issue around which those disgusted with the GOP can rally. It’s clearly not the anti-debt/anti-big spending party. It’s clearly not the 100% “Pro-family” party, with its RINO pro-choicers. But mark my words: IF a single issue arises around which the deficit hawks, the national security hawks, and the pro-family hawks can coalesce-—and the Republicans aren’t overwhelmingly and clearly out in front (and I mean like 90% of them, vocally and intensely in front), the GOP could face extinction by apathy.

“So you’ve slandered the man twice.”

Do you know what slander is, LS? I’ll bet you don’t, right, LS!

“There is no one-—NO ONE-—in or out of politics as effective at laying out the conservative case right now as Rush.”

It isn’t working, LS. We’re headed for the scrap heap of American history if the public continues to believe that we are lead by a man as flawed as Limbaugh. “Operation Chaos” was bad enough. What he’s up to now will mean the end of the GOP as a serious force in this country.

Bye. I think the vast majority of real conservatives would prefer Limbaugh to Ronnie Paulista any day. But you're "outing" yourself with your inane comments. Keep it up. Suppose you think Bush was behind 9/11, too? Or that we "give too much money to Israel?" Or that the Bildeburgers control the world.

Oh, and I do know what slander is. I read your posts about Rush.

Huckabee is another hypocritical RINO who thinks federal funding stops hurricanes. Ever noticed how very few people died during Hurricane Ike compared to Hurricane Katrina? Common sense, not FEMA, saves lives during natural disasters.

Really? Wow! Are you a musician? I am, and love Rock. Let me know when the book is done. I'll pick it up.

Around my area I get the privilege of talking to two older rock performers who were REAL big in the eighties. I always end up asking them how they came up with the music, and what inspired them?

He basically cornered the conservative republicans into following him down this idiotic road.

They didn't have to follow him. Had they stood up to him, they'd be in the driver's seat now. Instead, they have zero credibility.

President Bush certainly deserves credit for not allowing that to happen, he was a fine CIC.

Lower manhattan was covered in ash and debris. Does he deserve credit for that, too?

You have a personal problem with Rush, it seems. Like him or don't like him, but don't lie about him. It just undermines your own credibility.

“Conservatism” has become a cottage industry where people market their wares.

That's a great point.

Bush's social spending is reminiscent of LBJ

On fiscal policy, he was part LBJ, part Hoover. On foreign policy, he was part Wilson, part LBJ. On executive power, he was Nixon. In short, he combined the worst elements of some of our all time worst presidents.

"We had big spending under Bush and now we have big spending under Obama," Gingrich said. "And so now we have two failures."

Newt is correct.

I’ll bet it’s the big pay check that gets your goat more than the other stuff. He makes it and you don’t.

I say more power to him, he deserves it!

Keep up the good work Rush, you are the best.

more concerned with conspiracy theories about the last election and the “Marxist” “foreigner” in the White House

There is nothing conspiratorial about the theories in regard to the Dog-and-Pony Show commonly referred to as the last election.

And, there is a COMMUNIST in the white house, there is no denying that. As to the foreigner aspect...well that remains to be proven one way or the other.

The Huckster is a damn fascist! Why would I care anything about what he says?
